What People Say

In summary

Tam O'Shanter Golf Club, now part of Stark Parks, is appreciated for its scenic beauty, expansive trails, and opportunities for outdoor activities like hiking, birdwatching, and cross-country skiing. Visitors enjoy the transformation of the former golf course into a natural landscape with diverse wildlife and flora, making it a popular spot for photography and family gatherings. While some note that the park is still under development with certain areas feeling unkempt, many are optimistic about its future enhancements and appreciate the ongoing improvements.

Spectacular walking trails, with meadow after meadow of wildflowers. Great for birdwatching. A hidden gem in Stark County.

I saw a total of 10 deer at different times during my run tonight (see if you can spot them in the pics). Lots of grasslands which I enjoy. Trail development still taking place, but I was able to run for an hour and only backtrack over my previous course one time.

This is not one of the best stark parks in my opinion. It doesn't seem to get the attention to care as some of the others. For example, at the fall fest they had the children's trick or treat trail around the pond where there was goose poop everywhere. It does looks like they might be trying to do some upgrades as it looked like there was a new addition of bathrooms to the old clubhouse. And maybe next year for safety and cleanliness sake, their fall festival should be held at Perry Sippo where it was held the ye…

Still in development but it was definitely beautiful 🩷 the trails are simple and not finished but the tunnel of bushes was awesome.

The shelters are perfect for a large family gathering. They are large with plenty of tables and a covering for colder weather. The surrounding park is beautiful with walkable grassy areas and native plants. It is stunning during golden hour (esp in fall) and perfect for observation/photography walks.

Cross Country skiing in the winter!! Rolling hills, flat, gentle slopes. No rentals. Bring your own. Well marked trails. Can do a few miles or loop back around.

Lots of fun activities for children and adults. Enjoyed the beekeeper's experience with the bees and how honey is harvested. Live animal exhibits were educational.

Lots of open space! Trails are a combination of former golf cart trails and grassy stretches. Will be even better in the future!

This a really beautiful place to get your steps in. It is under development still, so I look forward to seeing how it turns out. We had family photos taken here, as well. It was great for it.
