In summary

Sun Hills Golf Course receives praise for its friendly and professional staff, well-maintained greens, and enjoyable layout, offering a pleasant golfing experience with scenic views. However, some visitors express concerns about the course's tee time management, citing issues with overcrowding and slow pace of play, which can detract from the overall experience. Despite these criticisms, many golfers appreciate the course's atmosphere and the efforts of the staff to accommodate players.

This course does a great job all around. The staff is friendly, professional, and clearly on top of things. You’re taken care of from the moment you arrive, and everything runs the way it should. The men’s league is especially impressive. It’s organized, well-communicated, and runs smoothly every week. Pairings and scoring are handled efficiently, and the atmosphere is competitive but still fun. You can tell they care about doing things the right way. It makes you want to keep coming back.

As of this writing/review (9/8/2025) Sun Hills conditions are very good. Fairways and Greens are lush and in exceptional shape. Additionally, A shout-out to the Pro there - Chris Johnson - He is an excellent trainer and coordinator of any/all events at the course and a great ambassador of the game. I enjoy my interactions with Chris when our paths cross at the course ... he has established so many lasting relationships with so many many golfers at all skill levels.

If I could give this course 10 stars I would. We had a group of four that needed a quick tee time later in the afternoon. Another course couldn’t fit us in until hours later when it would be too late to fit in a full 18. We called Sun Hills and they said they could get us out on course as soon as we arrived. We came in from out of town and they were still able to set us up with full sets of rental clubs and get us out onto the course quickly. The pace of play was outstanding and the course itself was an absolute joy to play. We had a mix of experience and driving distances but still were able…

This course is HORRIBLE! I used to like it and now they charge 40$ to walk 18 and stack tee times way to close then stuff people in between groups. 5 hours is way to long. Marshalls don't do a thing. Most expensive course in the area and almost as bad of shape as crane field. I will never go here again. I'd rather walk the barn for 34$ and have a much better course. DO NOT GOLF HERE.

Absolutely horrible management. Stacking tee times way too close causing massive delays beyond reason. On top of the tee times the employees in the pro shop were unpleasant to deal with and were not listening. I say they were not because I checked in 20 minutes prior to our tee time and had a conversation about them not having carts available. While I was waiting for a cart they called our group “in the hole” and then asked for our group to come check in if we had arrived. While I know the owner will reply with “we will look into the tee time issue.” It’s just unacceptable. Squeezing tee times…

Sun-hills is a good course, I’ve played it several times. Spring and early summer the course is great, late summer the heat takes its toll on the grass. Late summer you can expect a lot of dry areas. Still a great course and early morning tee times are the absolute best! Watching the sun come over the mountains is beautiful.

This course has gone downhill severely. The greens are scalped and unplayable in some areas. The fairways are dirt on some holes. Tee boxes from the blue tees are hard pack dirt. Completely atrocious they charge full price. Do not play in the afternoon on weekends. The pile tee times so close we bailed after 6 holes because it was 2.5 hours. Got a rain check. Went back! Played early morning. Pace was great until the back 9 when they put twosomes in the middle of the foursomes re-rounding. This causes back ups. Course seems they only want money. Go play valley view for the same price. One of th…

Was a little pricier than some of the other local courses. Was told after front 9 no one would be ahead of me, had a 2-some and walking 3-some as I turned after front 9 that I wasn't playing behind. A little frustrating. Joined with another single player behind me to fill the waiting gap and had an enjoyable experience. A few nice views of mountains.

I went out with my husband, dad, and brother yesterday. Spent almost (if not) $300 to play and we were rushed by the Marshall twice. He even sat at the top of the hill of the hole we were on to watch us? I’m learning how to golf and I enjoyed the experience before this golf course took that joy away. I just felt rushed the rest of the time and didn’t get the chance to learn because I had to “pick up my ball” and move it down the course instead of playing it. Don’t waste your money on this course if you’re learning. That’s $300 I could’ve spent elsewhere for probably a 5 Star experience at half…

Terrible t time management last 2 times I played it was 6 1/2 hour round. Today I got to my t time on hole one and there was 3 groups on the box. It was like this the entire front 9. I left without even finishing the back as it was going to be another 6+ hour round.

I genuinely couldn’t tell you about a more overpriced golf course that doesn’t actually take care or maintain their course. For less money you could play valley view or Davis park and the course is actually well maintained. This is hands down the worst golf course I have ever played. From tee times being about 2 minutes apart so your stuck just sitting around waiting for ever to terrible green and fairway conditions don’t waste your money at this garbage course go somewhere else and give your money to a course that actually uses the money to upkeep their course. This was the last time I will e…

I do enjoy my time at Sun Hills every time I golf here! Some holes on this course are pretty memorable! The greens are definitely on the slower side so if you don't like slow greens be prepared.
