In summary

Stillwater Golf & Recreation is frequently praised for its well-maintained course, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and relaxed, small-town atmosphere. The course layout, offering both 9 and 18-hole options, is appreciated for its accessibility and enjoyable play, with many noting the good value and pleasant setting near the Yellowstone River. However, some visitors have mentioned issues with slow play due to larger groups and the repetitive nature of playing the 9-hole course twice.

Nice course, friendly staff. Still in pretty good shape for mid Nov, only hard thing was finding the ball with the sun shining and leaves on the course. Expected this time of year.

Great small town 9/18 hole golf course (different tee boxes for the back nine) that is maintained really well. As visitors, we played 3 rounds over a three week period at the beginning of the season and found the staff to be professional and really welcoming. Definitely worth playing if you are in the area.

Nice little public course. The employees are always super nice, the little clubhouse is nice, and it definitely has that small town vibe. We live down the road in Laurel, but it's worth the drive to escape the snobs, higher prices, crowds, and enjoy a slower pace.

Played twice here since they opened , one day in the wind and one really nice day. Course is still thawing out and the greens are sandy and rough but it's golf in Montana in March. Still fun and challenging. Brand new carts are an extra bonus.

I had the time of my life at this Great Course. Everyone is very nice and the course was in great shape. The greens were in prefect condition!! I golfed by myself on Unlimited Golf on Wednesday, and everyone ahead of me, offered to let me play through without even asking, finished 18 holes in under 2 hours.

To spend my life to perfect this game should only be secondary to the views, air, sights and sounds you experience at this relatively flat, very nicely kept course. This county is more than lucky to have it here. Staff are so supportive; They help you with everything, regardless of your game status/hometown.

Pretty little course that we've enjoyed several times over the years. BUT, today there was a 7- some in front of us that stymied play. We left before finishing.

Would have given it 4 stars but you play 9 holes twice. I dont enjoy courses like that. Some of the greens have a simlar surface as the moon and I'm not sure but I think I counted 5 different types of grass on 1 fairway. Still, its quiet, friendly knowledgeable staff and fairly priced.

Love the golf here. Immaculate fairways are something rare for the golf I'm typically playing in Socal. I thoroughly enjoyed this course.
