Rip Van Winkle Country Club

Hey, remember when we got married on the 1st tee box in 2005 after the family golf tournament? The owners of that place are so awesome! They really go all out to make sure you have a great time. One time, John even lent my husband his personal golf clubs when we flew up for a quick visit. It's a small place, but it's got a big heart. We've made so many great memories there.

Great atmosphere, views of the Northern Catskill peaks that are incomparable, golf, good food and good company! Sara & John Smith are the most accomodating hosts ever, anywhere!

We love coming here. We have been a few times in the last couple of months. We tend to come during the week, weekends we've only driven past and seen how busy it is. During the week it's easy to get on, very little wait time, easy to get a golf cart or buggie, prices are good too. The course itself is well maintained and is fairly forgiving. The owners are great, staff are all super friendly, its a family run business where everyone helps out. We had lunch there twice last week and found the food pretty tasty - their chicken cutlet sandwich is the best. Well worth the stop if your driving thro…

Rip Van Winkle Country Club is a gem of a course especially considering it's only nine holes. The upside it's that most holes have two set of tees so it's almost like playing a different nine the second time around. The course of open yet challenging. The pace of play is average, about 4.5 hours to play 18 holes. The people are very friendly, both the crew and the other players. The course of somewhat challenging with some of the par 4s over 400 yards. It's a very scenic course surrounded by the Catskills. Warm greetings upon entering from owners, John & Sarah and their friendly staff. Table settings were decorated for the holiday , and the presentation of food in the buffet room was exceptional!! The dessert room had tiers of assorted delectable goodies, which brought us tremendous joy. Just want to thank you for making our Easter a special one! John & Sara Smith are the perfect team to plan your next event. Their expertise made the entire process effortless and the end result was nothing short of exceptional. Had a delicious prime rib dinner tonight. Along with tasty lamb egg rolls with a tzatziki sauce. All while enjoying great views of the golf course and mountains. Highly recommend and we will be back.
