In summary

Port Charlotte Golf Club receives praise for its friendly staff, affordability, and user-friendly layout, making it a popular choice for casual rounds and trying out new clubs. However, many visitors express concerns about the course's condition, citing issues with the greens, fairways, and tee boxes, which some attribute to ongoing renovations and seasonal weather impacts. While some appreciate the improvements under new ownership, others are frustrated by the slow pace of play and the need for further investment in course maintenance.

Very user friendly venue. Plenty of tee areas. Not much water. Great place to hone the game. Gets a lot of play so tees and fairways are not great, but it's winter. Friendly staff. Tip the cart guy if you can. Greens are good. I recommend this venue for a fun round at a fair price.

Can't beat the price. The new owners are fantastic. They have a lot of work to do, but they seem committed to getting the course looking great. Fun round. Not to long, pretty wide open. Fun course to try out new clubs. Prices at the bar/cafe are great. Won't find better. Customer service was a 10. Can't wait to play again.

Not sure where to begin. Really good people working there and they’re doing the best with what they can. This course is a great layout but unfortunately it’s a goat track condition wise. Finished up on a Sunday at 7:00 PM and clubhouse was closed. Whoever owns this course should do the right thing and and sell it to someone who loves the game of golf.

I've been playing here occasionally for the past year. I have watched a steady improvement in both the course and the facilities. People are always working on the course and it's really starting to look good. Very pleased with what's happening here. I will be able to give 5 stars soon.

Played a round today and the course is in the worst shape I’ve ever seen it. I’ve played here off and on for 30 years. It’s sad to see this course in such bad shape. All the tee boxes and fairways are burnt out with bare sand spots everywhere. They have improvised short par 3’s on some of the par 4 holes because they are in such poor condition. Greens were just sanded and in horrible shape. Rather than limit play to give the course a chance to recover, they just keep packing people on the course. Makes play very slow. I would like to hope they will invest and improve the course but it’s so far…

What a disappointment. Played this course year ago was in great shape. Played today. What a joke no mention as they took my 40.00 how bad this course is There is NO grass on tee boxes Tees haven’t been picked up in months it looks like. Forget the sand. And the greens are like putting on a land mine. Worse course I’ve ever played on. What a shame 😢. I would give it a zero Was one the nicest in the area. WAS!!!

Poor customer service from gentleman in Pro Shop. Been playing here for several years using the group golfer vouchers. Never had a problem. Got there 10/24 for a 9 am tee time and said these are only good after 11am...never had an issue before but never really read fine print and I understand....but I still thought he would let us play this time. I mean seriously 2 hours. I will NEVER suggest anyone play this course.

We stopped for a drink and to check out the menu. I heard they had good food at great prices. The restaurant is very large for special events, but the bar area is on the small side, but clean and modern. Everything was very reasonably priced. The food was your basic bar food, nothing fancy. There is outdoor seating as well. Service was prompt and friendly. We will be back to try the food.

So overbooked!!! We teed off 30 minutes late. The starter was condescending telling us to “just enjoy the day.” We left 3 holes unplayed after 5 hours!!! The course was in horrible shape. The greens were bare or fuzzy. We will NEVER golf at this course again.

Nice course for the price of a round of 18. Out of season it gets a bit rough but once the rainy season starts it is MUCH better. In season the course is better maintained and actually nice to play. Not the most difficult course around but still quite fun.

Can’t beat the value of this course. I played 18 and it was well worth the $. Greens and tees were in great shape. Fairway was getting worked on so had some sandy spots but no big deal. Course was not too difficult but still challenging. I would def recommend
