In summary

La Purisima Golf Course is highly praised for its challenging layout, beautiful natural setting, and well-maintained greens. Many golfers appreciate the unique experience offered by its undulating fairways and scenic views, with some enjoying the added fun of renting scooters. However, some visitors have noted issues with slow pace of play and occasional staffing challenges, such as customer service and course management, which can impact the overall experience. Despite these concerns, the course remains a popular destination for those seeking a rigorous golfing challenge.

This course is incredibly challenging and some people don't like it because it has really long fairways, I personally love it because it gives me a lot of different ways to play and different clubs to use every time I come out even if I don't get the best score, it's absolutely beautiful. Well, cared for and an excellent course to practice Long drives and your putting. Additionally, it offers a real challenging putting practice area and a nice driving range. Absolutely worth the price point. For how much Golf it offers beautiful, wonderful setting.

This course is as beautiful as it is difficult. It is easy to see why it is ranked as one of the top public courses in California. La “Pure”-isima is just that… it’s a first class golf course. Additionally, If you and your group are with the vibe to rent to Finn Scooters I would 100% recommend you do that. We had an absolute blast riding them around, and they follow push cart rules which was an added benefit. The course has a lot of undulation and blind shots, challenging even the best golfers. That’s why they host pro and qualifying tournaments here over the years. One last thing to mention i…

⛳️ Golf just got a turbo upgrade 🛵💨 Riding into birdies with style—who needs a cart when you’ve got a scooter? This was way too fun.

La Purisima Golf Course in Lompoc, is a well-regarded, natural golf course designed by Robert Muir Graves. The course has challenging holes and is surrounded by nature. Afternoon can get pretty cool and windy.

One of the best courses I've ever played. Absolutely loved it! 10/10 for the course It was a windy day and It was very difficult. The golf cart was also a bit sad it had trouble twice on the course but oh well I'm sure in a few months I won't remember anything but the course and how brilliant it was!

I recently played this course and while the layout and scenery are impressive, the overall experience left a lot to be desired. I flew from Australia and was expecting a great experience but I will never be back and nor will my cali friends. First, let’s talk about the course itself. With a slope rating between 136–142, this is not a casual walk in the park—it’s a genuinely challenging track, especially for amateur golfers. Despite this, there seems to be an unrealistic expectation for all groups to finish under 4 hours. For a difficult course with tight lies, blind shots, and ball-hungry ter…

Amazing course! Layout is amazing, greens have a lot of slope to navigate... Playing it the first time is really challenging... our next round there will be helped by all we learned after making mistakes due to not knowing the course. All in all it was everything we could hope for in a challenging golf course. Even got to witness my son (NCAA div1 golfer) eagle the par 4 hole number 4 (340yrds... Driver to 4 feet) and get a hole in one on hole 13 (he played from the tips). They allow walking your round, which we did. A few hills to navigate. We walk most of our rounds so we're in shape for it.…

Welcome to one of the most difficult courses in America 🙏🏌️‍♂️⛳🌞😀 The greens are perfect. The fairways a little damp so no a lot of roll out I had a few come back. The grill is open and clubhouse staff friendly and helpful. We finished in under 4 hours so a pleasant morning. La Purisima should be on your bucket list to play then go wine tasting Kessler-Haake is my favorite drop in and say hi to Fred..

Beautiful course, not at all crowded…but play it with someone who knows the course. Water where you can see it, blind tee shots, Great greens….but a bit “tricky”. Glad I played it..but most likely not again.

Excellent greens and hole placements. Elevated tees and tight fairways were challenging. Back 9 was like driving through Jurassic park as we meandered through the oak trees. Love this place! Play early though, as the wind kicks up around 11 am.

Great layout but need more help, a Marshall or two and a drink cart person. Super slow on back nine. Sometimes 4 groups on a hole. Ridiculous. No drink cart. Waiting 5-10 minutes on every tee on back nine. No one helping out super slow groups. Course needs some TLC. Wasted $ on medium bucket to warm up because there were no balls in machine and worker was taking her time. They need more people managing this place. Played on a Sunday.
