In summary

Heron Creek Golf Club is frequently praised for its beautiful and challenging course layout, with well-maintained greens and excellent practice facilities. The staff is often described as friendly and attentive, enhancing the overall experience. However, some visitors have noted issues with course conditions, such as sandy greens and maintenance disruptions, as well as inconsistent service and amenities, including limited food and beverage availability and a lack of GPS on carts.

Absolutely beautiful course, probably one of the nicest if not the nicest south of Venice. Challenging course and fast greens. Highly recommended if you’re a decent golfer. High handicaps would have a tough time around this course. Update: Such a hidden gem. Always in great condition and such a fun course to play.

Recently had a tournament at this Golf Course! Had a blast! Friendly staff! Very attentive! The staff made sure we all had what we needed and then some. The greens were nice and smooth. All in all very nice golf course and courses. Food was phenomenal complements to the chief! Would recommend this place to any one who is looking to go out and play a good game of golf! Even in the bad weather this place is great!

Very overrated course! Golf course condition is below average at best. Greens are like concrete and beat up pretty bad. At best a 50.00 dollar course. Staff is not customer serviced oriented and obviously biased towards non residents & members. You will only see beverage cart once in 18 holes... beverage prices 4 whiskey drinks and a coke 106.00... other courses in the area are much much better. Will not be back, any time soon! Do not waste your time or money!

Visiting Florida and wanted to get a round in at a nicer course. HCG was recommended to me. The facilities are on par with most expensive country clubs I’ve been too, but that’s where it ends. Course conditions were average, this isn’t a difficult or long course. Weeds on the greens, but the traps were in good shape. I got rentals, highest loft was 50’ that was fun chipping on tight pins. Check out the grip on the putter, btw rentals are $50 🤮🤮🤮. No cart gps. Only saw the beverage cart 1x on the back and 1x on the front. Save your money and go elsewhere!

A pleasure to head south from Long Island after 5 months of not playing golf and get invited to play Heron Creek GC. A great maintained course for fairways and greens. And hospitality at its best. A wonderful kick off to the 2026 season for me. Would definitely play here again before I head back north.

Heron Creek offers some nice courses with 3 nine-hole options. We've played there a few times now, I initially found the course fairly difficult with more hills than I'm used to but we always enjoy our rounds. I also like to see the alligators.

Due to the drought, there is not a green blade of grass on this course (except for one random tee box). Greens are very sandy. The fairways are very thin and challenging. Worst condition of 4 courses I played in the area, though it is still a great layout. Still full price though. Despite an active ranger our first nine was 2 1/2 hours even, back nine was good though. Our cart died a mile from the clubhouse and no way to reach anyone at 6pm, had to walk in. Course didn't reply to my email about that . Other than that...

Played a tournament on Friday with 20 golfers. Not being totally familiar with the course, the members we encountered were rude and not at all welcoming. The tee boxes were in bad shape. The fairways were burned out and the greens were some of the worst I've seen. And to make it even worse many of the greens were top dressed with sand. In the middle of the busy season!! Really. And after the round we wanted to stop in the clubhouse and were told it was pasta night and they were busy. One of the servers told us there was a Beef o Brady's just down the street so maybe we should go there! Golf co…

Amazing practice facilities and course is always in pristine condition. They have 27 holes and rotate maintenance so you are playing on smooth greens all summer long. Definitely the place to play.

we played on a Tuesday mid morning and we were shocked to come upon a course maintenance crew working on the greens at 1:00 on a Tuesday during our back 9!!! They literally had a Cushman dump vehicle on the greens dumping loads of sand while we awaited to hit our approach shot!!! This happened on four consecutive holes and left a massive amount of sand to putt through. NO PRIOR INFORMATION FROM PRO SHOP....NO REDUCTION IN RATE ( BTW WE PAID 160.00 FOR THIS UNPROFESSIONALISM)... this was totally uncalled for. Happening on a Tuesday afternoon????? Who does that??? I am new to area and was consid…
