In summary

Fox Ridge Golf Course is often praised for its well-maintained grounds, beautiful setting, and friendly staff, with many visitors enjoying the variety of its par 3 and regulation courses. However, some guests have expressed dissatisfaction with customer service, particularly regarding policies on non-golfing companions and children, as well as occasional issues with course conditions and food quality. Despite these concerns, the course remains a popular choice for those visiting Helena.

Great course to walk or ride though you’ll break a sweat walking some of the hills on the back 9. Nice variety of different approaches to the greens. Well maintained. Friendly service. A must if you’re a golfer visiting Helena.

Great course! We played the par 3 today which is a great course to hone your short game or play with the kids. The back 9 has longer fairways. The regulation course is also beautiful but with more hazards. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Be sure to arrive 5-10 minutes before your tee time.

It is my understanding that this has been for sale for some time. I hope someone buys it and hires a staff with some customer service skills. A couple of years ago I was down with an arm injury, in a sling. My wife and some friends were playing as a foursome, I paid a cart fee to join for the conversation. She initially was riding with me, but then the pro shop kid came out with a message from the boss … either my wife ride with the other golfer or we could all leave. What difference did it make? We didn’t get upset with the kid as he was just the messenger.

Did the par 3 on 9/7 in early morning. Course was immaculate and not many people. Probably due to the tournament on the championship course. Highly recommend for a quick round.

It’s a great experience out in the countryside by Helena. I like the staff, pro shop, everything about it is a great Montana experience. It’s the specific design of the course that’s poor. There is no design. On the par 5 ninth, I hit my approach shot fat and the ball landed in the middle of a bunker directly in front of the green, and bounced out of the bunker, rolling to within 10 feet of the pin, which was in the middle of the green. The ball should have plugged in the sand, that’s the whole point of the hazard. Anyway, the course in Dillon, and the course in Butte, and both courses in Idah…

Stopped by in Helena on my way to Cascade when I decided to play in this course. The course is in great shape, greens are wonderful and has an amazing view. People that work here were interesting; a man that was mowing the grass spoke to me about the course and found some time to give me pointers about Helena’s community. He encouraged me to visit the Cathedral of St. Helena before leaving town. It was a great idea ! My wife and I loved the cathedral. Many thanks to this man. I would also like to thank Daniel Baxter for his hospitality. I will certainly come back.

Fun course, pace is usually great, also one of the best par 3s I’ve seen if you only have 30-40 Minutes to hit

My group had 3 golfers and 2 watchers. This broke the 4 person limit but my understanding was 4 actual players. Lady came out said the two observers had to go back to the club house or we had to all go back to the clubhouse. No big deal, rules are rules. But then while we waited for a separate group the man and woman were staring at us through the window. We went in to smooth the water and explained we planned to eat but the guy aggressively asked why we even came in and the lady informed us we were being passive aggressive by waiting and planning to eat at the clubhouse. 0 stars for customer…

I’m not really one to write reviews, but this one was worth it. Mother’s Day Brunch: if I could give it 0 stars, I would. We showed up without a reservation, but were seated with the knowledge that the table had a reservation at 1. Leaving us a generous 45 minutes to serve ourselves, eat and pay. That was fine. We waited 10 minutes for the waitress to come over before we finally decided to just go get our food. Had to ask the hostess for water and silverware instead of getting service from waitstaff. The food; cold, unmelted ungodly amounts of shredded cheese, no flavor. No service from the wa…

The course was in horrible shape. It is like it hasn't been watered in a year. Lots of bare spots on the greens and in the fairways. The 18th green was over half the area dirt. Pretty bad stuff.

Only reason for a 1 star is because even though the kiddos could ride in the cart with us, they still charge them the price for not even golfing. The course is really good absolutely love the golf course but to charge for a kid thats not even golfing is absurd.

We were in town for a day and they were super accommodating, fitting us onto the very nice par 3 course at the end of the day. Would love to come back again if we are back passing through!
