Fincastle Country Club

What a wonderful experience. Great staff. Good food and a dynamite golf course all for just $45/$55 weekdays/ends. This is a former private course turned muni when the city saved it. Great team running it now and bright future. Stop by and see them!

Fincastle on the Mountain is one of the best municipal golf courses I’ve ever played. The course has amazing mountain views and is a blast to play. The course features small undulating greens, narrow hilly fairways, and beautiful white sand bunkers making it a challenge for golfers of all skill levels. The staff and golfers were extremely courteous and friendly and made for an enjoyable round. This is the best golf course in the coalfields region of Virginia and is a must play if in the area.

Have been playing this course for about 3 yrs now. I absolutely love the course and the fact it gives me quality time with my dad is priceless, i give the course a 5 but i give it a 1 because of the fact that almost every time we play the staff in the pro shop are just plain out rude and have the personality of a golf ball. There is never a hi how you doing or any convo other than basically what do you want and if you call for a tee time it’s the same, what do you want and then just hang up. For almost $50 for 18 holes you get a decent quality course and terrible, an horrible driving range with mats, and arrogant workers in the pro shop. The older guy named Joe who waited on me was clearly irritated I was asking questions about the course, and threw away my full energy drink I accidentally left on the counter while I was getting my cart and then openly admitted to it stating “I left it on their counter.” I was literally gone for two minutes. Great view from the outdoor dining deck. Food is always great. Tried the Osborne burger and a Bloody Mary....both were excellent.

We photographed a wedding a few years ago and were sold! Beautiful views & kind people! We use the lovely ground all the time to photograph our families and couples. The restaurant is lovely and I hear the golfing if top notch.

I read a previous post and felt the need to post a review of my own. I had my wedding here on September 1, 2018 and I couldn't have chosen a better place to have a reception. Now at first I had a slight scare because 2 weeks before my wedding I was told that the previous coordinator was no longer working there. I started to panic a little, but after talking to Jennifer (the new coordinator) she assured me that she would do everything she could to make sure my reception was perfect. She did just that! Great buffet and environment on Thursday, very friendly and wonderful staff

One of the best tests of golf in Va. Not a blade of grass out of place. Restaurant is also amazing. Eat here two to three times a week. Wonderful pool, tennis and pickle ball courts as well.

Our waitress was wonderful and a delight.
