Fairways Riverside Golf Club

Greens are horrible (cracks in the turf and brown spots everywhere), mowing is out of control, and here's the mold on the seats of the golf carts I was given. I was told the good carts are for their "morning group." Pictures are after I cleaned them with a rag and cleaner. Shorts have black stuff all over them after playing... and I smell like mildew from the seats. This is pathetic.

I have played this course off and on since it was built. I can remember when it had great greens. Played 8/21 and played it in July. I honestly thought it could not get worse from my July visit it, but it did. Fairways are not mowed, can barely see the ball in your own fairway. Greens are horrendous. They are slow, not cut daily, not cut every other day, not cut after the day after that, or the day after that. Average course ,nice flat no hills hard to find ball in rough,greens good, Don't go if u are single and want a cart they charge singles 7 extra dollars . They say cart is made for 2 so we have to charge more. Well times I played there were probably 30 or more carts sitting , empty. I will not go back to play because of extra fee. I will be in that area a few more times this year camping will find somewhere else to play I refuse to let them rook me out of more money cause I play by myself. Read the previous reviews. Nothing has changed. Greens are in rough shape and burnt to Hell and back. I’ve had an easier time retrieving balls hitting out in a fresh cut hayfield than finding one 10 feet off the fairway at this place. Dried clumps of grass all over the place. The “fairways” are relatively high. I understand you get what you pay for, but compared to other courses in the area at the same prices it’s pretty pathetic and it’s a shame considering the location and potential that’s there.

The rough needed mowed better. Hard to find balls. I lost a ball just off the fairway in the rough on hole number 1, playing with a group because the rough was too high. That should not happen. Also need senior tees in between ladies and white tees. I'm handicapped with Spina Bifida and there are other people in the area that are elderly that I think would appreciate having senior tees. I realize you only charged winter rates for nine holes. However, it's almost June and I would be willing to pay a little more if rough was mowed better and there were an extra set of tee boxes.

This is the worst kept golf course in the United States. The place is never mowed, the bunkers need to be filled in (they have been unplayable for years), the help knows nothing about golf let alone how to manage a golf course, the holes are changed about 3 times a year, and maintenance is non existent. Don't waste your money.

This course is a joke. The fairways looked like a cow pasture, the 2nd cut on the greens were a joke. The rough had clumps of dried grass. Don't waste your time or money. You're better off going to Clair Mar.

This place is a joke. The fairways are now cut properly. They never have golf balls for the driving range. The golf carts need serviced. I wouldn't waste your time and money.

Terrible expeirence. Bad customer service. Dont go here. I went to play on the small course, and the fair way was bad , the grass wasnt cut and there was dry grass all over the course . So, i went to go play on the other course and i got stopped by one of the grounds keeper and was told to go back to the club house. I called the front desk and talked to the lady ( she was very rude) didnt even let us play after that or even pay the difference between the two courses. Then, i asked for my money back , she said ok. And went to go get it and she refused to give me a refund. They didnt have a sign…

Old lady behind the counter can fall in the river for all I care. Absolutely rude as can be! Hope you don’t want to work on putting here the greens are in just as good as shape as West Virginia roads.

The young lady at the counter was extremely rude came out after 15 min on her phone and said 9 holes in a snotty voice. We came back to get waters on a hot day she said we can't go back out because they were closing so we asked for a rain check. Because we were out for an 1 1/2 see told us "we are closing no rain checks. We were never given a closing time. Will never recommend!!

The course is in horrible shape. The greens are so dried out they are cracked and burnt. I have seen it in better shape but it has not been kept up this year.
