What People Say

In summary

El Monte Golf Course is praised for its scenic location near Ogden Canyon, offering beautiful mountain views and a well-maintained, enjoyable 9-hole layout suitable for golfers of all skill levels. The course staff are described as friendly, and the on-site cafe receives positive remarks for its food. However, some visitors note that the course can be windy, particularly in the mornings, and there are occasional concerns about course maintenance and slow pace of play.

I might be partial because I just shot the best round of my life... A 99 with 2 dropped balls. But I loved this course. Yes it is only 9 holes, I played 2 laps... My friend wasn't joking about the morning wind... It's brutal for a 7am tee time ... The first hole is challenging with a tree right in the middle of the fairway and a 40mph head wind... Then from there the flag is hidden. Hole 2 you come back to the flag up above you for another blind chip. 3. Visually beautiful hole. With the wind keeping you back if you get it too high it has a 90° dog leg right. Where you come out of the trees…

Grew up in Davis county and never got out to this course. It's really beautiful! We did go in the morning and got those canyon winds but it actually made it pretty exciting! I wish there was 18 holes here but the 9 that are here are pretty fun! One thing I would do is make sure the people are off the first green, like go up and walk/drive over to where you can see if because we saw some people on a tee box, assuming it was the people in front of us but it wasn't so we hit but hit into the kids in front of us. Learned my lesson on that hole! Also if you go before 9 because of the crazy winds it…

I enjoy going up here to practice putting. The holes aren’t that long but they are challenging. It’s beautiful up there

Staff was very nice & the course was fun. There were only 9 holes so to play 18 you just do a re-round. Lot's of rough to donate golf balls to.

Played this course on Sunday afternoon, 19 September, 2021. Beautiful 9-hole course at the mouth of Ogden Canyon; I was informed that winds in morning can be quite blustery, thus I chose to play on a too-busy Sunday when I had a golfer behind me that persistently intruded onto my tee box before I teed off, as I had to wait for a foursome in front of me to clear. I'll have to return and play when it's quieter and thus more enjoyable. I was impressed by the stunning view from the unique, historic stone clubhouse, high above the 1st and 9th holes! Course was overall well-maintained and not too ch…

Love this course. Only nine holes but always in pretty good shape and has 2 of my favorite holes. Make sure you bring your pull cart in the winter time, they put away their golf carts

Beautiful course in the spring, summer, or fall. Some holes are challenging while others are more open for error. Fun course for all levels of golfers.

This is a great golf course! The burgers are delicious and I just love the lady that works in the cafe area. Very fun to play. On a couple of the holes you can hear the dinosaurs at the dinosaur park so that is really fun! I can't forget to mention the gorgeous view of the mountains!

Drivable par fours with loft wedges as appropriate approaches for the 9 hole public golf course.

First off, don’t play in the morning. The wind is horrible!! Then to add insult to injury there was standing water on most of the greens. Overall the course was in terrible shape. Definitely won’t be going back.

frustrated that we called ahead, set up a tee time with a cart and then when we showed up, guy insisted that it was walk tee time…. ummmmmmmm ???? i was about to drop $20 on beer and $10 just for a rider. if you don’t want want our business, then just say that 🤷🏻‍♀️ i understand that some people enjoy walking, but that is just not what we booked. will be sticking with mt ogden from now on for transparency and willingness to allow a rider who doesn’t want to play!
