What People Say

In summary

Deer Pass Golf Course is appreciated by some for its challenging layout and friendly staff, with a few visitors enjoying the unique design and affordable rates. However, many reviews highlight significant issues with course maintenance, including overgrown fairways, crabgrass, and poorly maintained greens and bunkers. While some find the course enjoyable, others feel it is overpriced given its current condition.

The grass in my back yard is nicer than the grass on the course. It didn't look like anyone had mowed the fairway or rough in a week. The bunkers aren't maintained. More crabgrass than real grass on most of the tee boxes. It could be a nice course if it was maintained like a golf course. You can tell it is maintained by park staff as opposed to a greenkeeper.

Known about this course since 1994, played for first time last week. Was a CGA tournament course. Understand! Ash borer took down trees. But, let’s be honest, the fairways are firm and roll out to the max. How fun for the recreational golfer, I’m a 11 handicap. Makes playing from 7119 yards fun and doable. Honestly, hitting from crabgrass on a wet day is better than your ball plugging into bent grass. Also, these green complexes are Kidwell design. This is a wonderful golf course. Play out of the bunkers as natural areas, The greens have so much character and slope. The fairways are generous,…

This course is way over priced at $70 per person for the shape the course is in. The women's and senior tees are completely dead. And dead spots all over every green which makes it hard to putt. No Marshall or Started at the course. Range balls are in bad shape. There are cheaper courses in much better shape and more friendlier staff. Absolutely not worth playing very disappointed. Course manager is out of state so I don't expect it to get in any better condition when he is not around or hear back on my complaint. Wish I would not have wasted my money on that course.

I haven’t been able to make the track to play here in probably 4 years maybe, and I don’t see any reason to return; ever; after my round yesterday. This place is by far in the worst condition that I’ve ever seen it. No mention that the green were severely aerated when booking the tee time, because if so, I wouldn’t have played here. It was so bad our group had to implement a max two putt rule due to too much sand. You needed a wedge versus a putter due to large amounts of sand on the green. The fairways were a whole new different story. They were overtaken by crabgrass and weeds. Very poor con…

I haven't played here for a couple years, but this is a perfect example of a course going downhill. Crabgrass has taken over the fairways, the fringe around the greens is all burned up,and and for crying out loud at least cut the gass! This is a beginner golf course at best. Not good!!!

What happened? Haven't played here in a few years and I was shocked at the lack of course maintenance. The traps aren't being maintained, the fairways are absolutely overran with crabgrass. I found the price to reflect the course of yesteryear. Staff were pleasant and the clubhouse well stocked. The new carts were very nice.

Way to expensive for the condition of the course. Worth 25 for 18 an cart in my opinion not 39 dollars very over price , Greens were not bad probably 7/10 on condition but the fairways need mowed bad and tee boxes we’re okay.

Golf course was very poorly maintained. It was hard to distinguish the fairway from the rough. Tee boxes were in terrible shape. I would not recommend for any price.

Average, at best. It would be nice if they mowed the fairways, didn't let 5-somes out, and were prepared for golfers looking for food and drink making the turn.

Poorly maintained. Unfortunately definition of goat path. Seems to be mostly crab grass, not much of a fairway, greens are in poor shape. The range and putting green by far the best part.

The staff was friendly but the course is in terrible condition. Fairway and tee boxes have a lot of bare spots and a lot of weeds..hopefully they can get it cleaned up.

Very nice course. Has some difficult holes, greens were nicely taken care of, fairways are very nice as well.
