Cypress Lake Country Club

This was my first time on this golf course. I was surprised that this beautiful golf course was located right in the middle of Fort Myers. The greens were impeccable, the fairways in perfect condition and there was really no "rough" to be found. I was greeted with a friendly hello from each and every staff member I came across. My wife and I had a great time and really enjoyed every hole of this gorgeous golf course. If you get a chance to golf this course, I highly recommend it!

We were from the UK and Ireland and managed to get a round on this exclusive golf course. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with open arms. Everyone we met was friendly and welcoming. The course itself was in pristine condition, the greens were like lighting. We had a very testing game of golf. The key was to be straight! Some great holes! Many of us live on a lake by the golf course. Some of us for over 20 years. They are now putting up a 6 foot chain-link fence and trees to block our view completely. . They tell us it is because of vandals (what are they gonna do… swim across the lake with alligators in it?). If vandals want to get in… they will … usually teenagers whether there’s a fence or not. If it was liability they would have to fence the entire lake even on the golf course side.. There is no reasoning with the golf club manager who is actually not even the decision maker. Had the privilege of playing this course a couple weeks ago.Outstanding Dick Wilson design restored a few years ago by the Forse Nagle team They did an excellent job.Its a challenging yet fun layout with all of Mr.Wilson architectural hallmarks.The members I was paired with are friendly and true golfers.The pro Jon Pezdora is a first class gentleman and tremendous ambassador for the club and the Dick Wilson Golf Society.His assistant,whose name I forget but who is from the Chicago area was wonderful to speak with also.I very much enjoyed playing this fine course and learning about its interest…

CLGC is a gem of great worth located right in the middle of Fort Myers. The golf course is the main focus of this place with a heavy emphasis on playing the course. Walkers are welcome as the course lays out easily to transition from green to tee. A variety of tees can accommodate any skill level but make no mistake, Cypress is a challenge at every level. Memberships are at a premium so if golf in Fort Myers is your thing, this can be your future home.

Unfortunately the club has been trending down due to poor management and decisions involving the course and club. The President of the club Scott Fisher is way over his head and it’s really taking a toll on its members. The club itself is terribly outdated. Instead of focusing on opportunities to vastly improve the amenities, the Club manager Ed and President Scott Fisher held a “vote” which did not pass and instead went on with their own decision to install some type of fence around areas that clearly did not need it and now we are having to foot the bill.

I played several rounds of golf at Cypress Lake Country Club prior to their if you want to call it reconstruction back then it was a tremendous Golf Course and after playing today in a tournament their updates and improvements have far surpassed any expectations a golfer could have. Generous Fairways and the greens are bigger very receptive to shots in and roll very nice at a nice speed. The staff is very professional and courteous it is well worth the Avid golfers time to experience a truly wonderful round of golf.

I was invited to a luncheon at the Cypress Lakes County club. Problem was, there is no dinning room at the country club, it is all homes and apartments. The dinning room is at the Cypress Lakes Golf club, further down the Winkler road. The dinning room was clean, staff efficient, the hamburger and fries were just fine, but the Arnold Palmer drink was weak

Very friendly employees, good pace of play. Excellent conditions w fast greens that would hold. Keep your sand wedge at the ready.

The improvements that are being made to this golf course are amazing. I personally have witness many golf course renovations, and this is the icing, on the cake! Great job by an superior GOLF COURSE ARCHITECT,AND GOLF COURSE CONTRACTOR! Hit them straight and enjoy.
