In summary

Capital Hills at Albany is praised for its beautiful, hilly layout and well-maintained course, offering a challenging experience for golfers. The staff is generally regarded as friendly and informative, and the venue provides excellent amenities, including a popular off-leash dog area during the off-season. However, some visitors have noted issues with slow pace of play and inconsistent conditions in certain areas like bunkers, as well as occasional dissatisfaction with customer service at the front desk.

If you are looking for the perfect of the leash walk for your dogs this is the place! It’s so amazing to see your dogs roam freely without a leash, encouraging socialization and allowing them more freedom to play and explore under the watchful eye of their owners. People are respectful and friendly. This amazing enclosed space to enhance safety and enjoyment for both dogs and their owners. I must say we had only had positive experiences at the course.Thank you for such a wonderful resource for pet owners.

A+ for sledding. There is a large parking lot and just a short walk from there to good sledding hills. The hill is quite long and just steep enough to get some good speed. Be aware that many other park-goers have dogs off leash if this is a concern for you.

I played at here last week, and it was my first time here, and i did like to play there. As the golf course name is the “capital hills at Albany”, so oh yes, almost of shapes of their holes are hills. I drove a cart, so the hills were not a big issues for me. Why not?! 🤣 And The name of the course says it’s about hills and the hills are really there at the course.. how can I complain?? Beautiful day, nice course, and good staffs.. i want to visit dagain!!

Beautiful, hilly, challenging, interesting course during the season. Completely open to off leash dogs during the winter which is a very rare and amazing experience. The course is about as well maintained of a course you can expect for municipal.

I have played this course three times and used the range multiple times. This is a community playground. Hills everywhere and conveniently charge you $20 for a cart because it is impossible to walk it. Not in the best conditions to be charging this much. Tee boxes and cart paths (most of them) are horrendous. Kids in the front desk speaks to you in a condescending manner. Range is okay for what it is. Just crowded in the afternoons… Not visiting again. Rather drive to Van Patten, Town of Colonie, Western Turnpike, etc.

Best off leash dog area in the capitol district. We are always so thrilled when golf season is done and they allow us to use the course to walk our dogs. Beautiful forest, river running through it and lots of dogs to interact with. You can spend a couple of hours here if you do the whole 18 holes.

One of the best courses I've played. Driving up to Lake George from NYC we decided to stop off for a quick 18 on the way, this was the best decision we could have made. The highlight of our trip!

The staff are very nice. The Ranger was so informative by telling us about the conditions of the course and what to do if the ball goes into the we sandtraps, etc. Beautiful course and play moved along well.

A challenging layout with mostly good conditions. Bunkers needed some work the day I was there.
