In summary

Black Diamond Golf Course is often praised for its challenging layout, scenic views, and unique features such as significant elevation changes and a par 6 hole. While many appreciate the course's difficulty and the friendly staff, there are recurring concerns about maintenance issues, including greens and fairways needing attention, and some find the course overpriced given its condition. Despite these criticisms, the course offers a memorable golfing experience, especially for those seeking a test of their skills.

Very challenging course with a nice mix of holes with big elevation changes. The greens are the defense of the course that are tough to read. This is a must place to play if you want to test your skills. Good luck.

This is a private course but sometimes you get to play it. Overall the course is in excellent shape. All holes are well laid out. It is built around an old quarry which makes for several outstanding calls that are picture postcards. It is expensive to play but it is worth it.

Very entertaining golf experience. Many fairways are slanted, on the sides of hills. Much of the ground has little top soil and the grass roots are therefore shallow. So, some good drives will bounce hard and run off the fairway and into big, big trouble. Not country club manicured, but so what. Our group was the only one on the course when we played, but everyone should play this course at least once.

Course is well maintained and was in good shape when we played it. Greens were 4.5 stars. They were generous in size and offered a good challenge. Fairways were 4 stars not plush but in nice shape. The lady who checked us in was 5 star all the way. Made us feel welcome and appreciated. Would definitely play this course again. The hilly layout made it challenging but no hole was unfair.

This course could be one of the best, unfortunately they have run out of money, no grass in the fairways, greens have patches all over them, cart paths are gone, you need a 4 wheeler to ride on them. It's really a shame beautiful property but needs new ownership with $$ invested to make it into a grest course. Do NOT waste your time driving all that way to play it.

Just played 9 at the Black Diomond Golf Course, and it was great. My golf could have been better (9 over=9), but what an amazing course. The undulating fairways make for very challenging golf. Views are amazing and i absolutely hate the greens! The greens (only played front 9) are in really good condition. Reading the greens however were almost impossible for me today. With the hills and all, its just hard to read the greens. I loved the course

Very sad day of golf. Was told by a youtuber to play this course as it was a “hidden gem”. He played it a few years back and unfortunatly the experience was really bad for us.Course should just stay “hidden”. Course was just aerated but that was least of our concerns. Very grungy staff, crabgrass fairways and greens that looked like beef jerkey they were so burnt out in some areas. Sausage dog at the turn must have been reheated for a week straight it was so hard. at $58 a person on a friday morning it was extremely over priced. This place made other $20-30 courses look like Augusta. It has gr…

I'd say the Black Diamond Golf Course is a 'below par' experience. Opened in 1999, it's clear they've 'divested' their attention and resources, leaving the course in a disappointing state. The staff is extremely polite and, the only reason I haven’t provided a one star review.

Beautiful and challenging…some greens arnt the prettiest but hard to read and worth the challenge. Hole 7 is massive and 9 was beautiful will definitely be back. I don’t see the hate for it!

5 stars all around!! Played 7/2/2024. Tee boxes were mowed well; fairways were mowed to perfect length; the rough is left long enough to punish you for missing the fairway, but not so deep that you lose your golf ball; greens are fairly fast with tons of undulations and tiers - not your typical municipal course greens. Easy to lose balls if you're not used to playing with sloped fairways... especially if you're a rightie and you have a heavy draw/ hook. Some narrow fairways ratchet up the challenge. Pretty difficult course to walk 18, but not too bad if your in good shape. Other than 5 or 6…

5-27-25. Service is terrible!!! Don’t ask for a rain check from these people. You play 2 holes and they will not give a rain check. It is there policy????? I am a local resident and will not give them any more business. Play Fire Ridge golf course for good service

This course should be played by Ohio golfers. As for course maintenance, I would give it 3/5. However, for unique experience, I give it 5/5. Lots of elevation change, blind shots, and not a level stance for a shot on the course. Complete with a 720 yd Par 6. It is humbling for sure. This course is an experience you need to have.
