Good course for the price. Yes, there are some patches that need to be looked at, and the course isn't in perfect condition, but you can get in a good round at this course, especially if you're looking for a reasonably priced course in Illionois. Monday's, they have 18 holes, a cart, hot dog, chips and drink for $35.00. That's a steal.

Terrible course. Greens were 90% dirt, grass clippings everywhere, T box’s were unkept, rough was insanely overgrown. Course employee approached me with an unwelcoming demeanour. He implied that I stole a staff bag. He also claimed they were trying to do best to keep the course in good shape, obviously not with how poor it’s looked. Disgrace to use the Veterans title for their course. Don’t waste your time or make money. Plenty of better courses that are worth paying more for.

Went out to play 9 today, 6/20, around 2pm. The greens are atrocious and the tee boxes not much better. Every year the same thing happens to the greens and yet they never seem to address the issues. The fact that on a weekend they have the audacity to charge $60 is outrageous. We stopped by the clubhouse after the round but they did not even offer an apology for the conditions.

The course itself is fun and long! The green and fairways could use some work, but they are actively trying to fix it! With the average price of a round nowadays, this is a stand out deal.

I’m embarrassed they use the word Veteran’s in the title. Used to golf here religiously, it is one of the best layouts but now the term “dumpster fire” would be a compliment.

Golfed here this past weekend with my brother and cousins. The fairways and rough are very well maintained. The greens are enjoyable. It is a fun course to play. The ball hits clean and the course is forgiving when you do hit a bad shot. Would play again.

They’re worked hard on this course this year. Not quite as good as has been the past but I have faith that they are truly on the right path to restoring one of the most fun courses on the north shore

Pretty nice place. Driving Range is neatly kept and you're not hitting off of turf so there's no false sense of reality with your golf game. Will be playing the course this weekend but overall seems pretty well put together. The Green fees leave something to be desired, since there's an extra charge for carts. Coming from a golf club where I am a member to this place was a little bit more expensive due to Car and Green fees being separated.

Four stars might be a little strong and premature. I have to compliment the new manager and course superintendent on the progress. Last year I would have said the course was unplayable but every week brings more and more improvements. There is still work to be done but week to week I have witnessed the fairways and more importantly the greens coming back. I have always loved the course layout and expect it to be better than it was before it was neglected. I recommend playing the course to see the vast improvements yourself you will at a minimum appreciate the great work the new team is doing a…

The course was in terrible condition. The greens were terrible and some holes were very unkempt. Our server at the pro shop was terrible. She did not know where anything was on the pos system. We had to show here how to place an order for a beer. The food took forever to order. Would not recommend coming here.

The fairways are terrible and have grass that I have never seen before. I have seen better rough than the fairways here. The greens are maybe the worst greens in America my carpet in my living room has more role out. The tee boxes are also the worst I’ve Ever seen weeds and divots all over and never repaired. And for all of that you have to pay 44 dollars to ride. It’s really a shame that this is a course that is representing the veterans of America. If I could give this course a 0 star I would.

Overpriced and unenjoyable. Management seemed to have a problem getting it together this year because the course didn't even open till mid-June. But hey, things happen. Prices have increased since last year, $48 to ride 18 on the weekdays (special promotion, for a limited time only). Tee boxes and greens are hit and miss, about half are in good shape, the other half are more dirt than grass. But what really unseals the deal for me is the condition of the rough. It's high, thick, and full of dead grass clippings. Any wayward shot more times than not ends up being a lost ball, and after 10-15 mi…
