Best hidden gem and sleeper course in all of WI! The layout is soooo good and the course is just all around a blast to play! Won't overpower or overwhelm you at any level. Plenty of risk/reward and very playable for all abilities. Conditions were outstanding considering all the rain and play they've seen.

First time playing the course. Everyone inside was super friendly and the course was in good shape. Challenging pin placements when we were there and multple blind shots into the fairways.. No cart service but the clubhouse was nice.

Beautiful course, spacious driving range, difficult practice green. Love the course, challenging back nine but fun holes as well. Great bartender, she made a drink that my friend made up on the spot. The practice green had a lot of slope! Large parking lot with plenty of room to park. Probably not a fun course to walk but the front nine you could do it, the back nine would be tough (some distance between a few holes). Recommend!

Only a 3 due to the basically non existent course management. The day I played we flew through 5 holes then did nothing but wait for the rest of the round. Pushing 15 mins a hole makes the round not enjoyable anymore. Never once did we see a ranger we were just told in the clubhouse well it’s busy today so it might be slower; that’s your cue to enforce pace Turtleback. Course it self 5/5 beautiful track and well kept nice job grounds crew for making it great. If you like waiting a lot this is the course to play. If you play a lot think twice on a weekend.

This is our home course since it is close to our cabin. We feel so thankful. The course is Beautiful, wooded and well maintained. The staff is exceptionally friendly and service oriented. Great bar and restaurant too! This is as nice of course as most in the Twin Cities! A total gem in Rice Lake!

Outstanding course! Love the layout of the course, the real estate between holes and overall condition of the course. Greens were well-manicured and fairways are great! Worth the drive from The Cities and I will come back! The staff was great and you have to stop by the restaurant!

Beautiful Country Club setting - staff is very friendly. Very walk-able and reasonably priced. Food is a little expensive but that seems to be everywhere. Pace of play was OK; slowed down considerably once under the bridge. I'll go back.

Played this course June 17. This is an incredibly well maintained course. The fairways are perfect. The greens were in great shape and running fast. Some of the pin positions were quite challenging. There were plenty of hazards ..sand and water. But it was not too difficult. The course is littered with humps throughout...the turtlebacks I suppose. It was beautiful. I would recommend...and will be back.

BRAVO to the manager! My parents were visiting from Minnesota and we were looking for a fun day. Turns out a full day of fun can be had at Turtleback. We enjoyed a wonderful round of golf with the course in tip-top shape. Fairways were perfectly groomed and the rough was penal without being ridiculously tough. The greens were receptive to a quality shot and respectfully fast. We thoroughly enjoyed the round. We went into town for supper but nothing peaked our interest as each person has vastly different food tastes, so we returned to Turtleback to enjoy supper at the restaurant - EXQUISITE! Th…

First time to the Rice Lake area (from MN) and playing Turtleback. What a beautiful course. Well maintained and pace of play was surprisingly perfect given the holiday weekend. We were paired up a with a lovely couple and enjoyed our round. Employees were gracious, friendly and helpful. Wish there were more places to stay on the lake in this area because we'd love to come back to this course again.

Front nine is pretty flat, like a turtle that's been run over by a cement truck. The back nine is like a camel back with 7 or 8 humps. Which would make a camel look really odd but is good land for golf holes. Great finishing par 5 but playing it straight into a 20 mph wind two days in a row is not good for scoring if you're not Tom Watson or Seve.

Great golf course! It is challenging but fair. There are a lot of different hole types that make each hole it’s own unique challenge and feel. Prices are reasonable for a higher caliber course.
