In summary

The Lakes Golf Course at Laura S. Walker State Park is frequently praised for its well-maintained fairways and greens, scenic natural setting, and friendly, accommodating staff, making it a popular and affordable choice for golfers. Visitors appreciate the course's layout, which offers a variety of challenges, and the amenities such as electronic score machines in golf carts. The Lakes Golf Course is tucked away in the woods, offering a peaceful, natural setting. Fairways were well maintained, and while the greens were sanded, that’s part of regular upkeep. Overall, a scenic and fair course with excellent value for money.

The course conditions are great. Greens were smooth and true. Fairways were well maintained. Rough was tough, probably at least 3-4" deep- hard to find balls even when noted where it went in. It would probably make play faster if they cut the rough down a bit, even by an inch. Clubhouse personnel were friendly and helpful. I have a minor walking handicap and they were accommodating. Overall beautiful course and very worth the low cost to play.

Fun course but not run well. Regularly double and triple book the same tee times and on busy days they let fivesomes play and hold everyone up.

Played at The Lakes last week for the first time. Was pleasantly pleased with the conditions. Ivey the superintendent had the course in great condition and the greens were very fast and fair. The staff in the pro shop was very accommodating. Walt Eddings made us feel so welcomed and the course was so good that we played it again two days later. Highly recommend giving it a try.

The course is the nicest one I have found in the area. It was I good condition for the time of year and greens were great . The only complaint I have was how I was treated by the lady at check in. I don’t know if she was just having a bad day but she was very unfriendly. When I finished the man waiting for the carts was friendly as can be so it evened out the experience. I would definitely play it again

The course is in great shape. The only issue is that the concrete cart paths are starting to show signs of their age, but nothing that would stop me from coming back. Ya, we had a couple of on lookers.

The course was in pretty good condition, it's reasonably priced, and I'll be returning for another round of golf soon. Be wary of the tall rough though, because the ball can easily be lost. Other than that, greens were fast, and in good condition...tee boxes and fairways are in good condition as well.

Another South Ga gem. Set in the outskirts of the Okeefenokee Swamp, this course is another excellent golf course. Smallish pro shop with typical southern charm and hospitality. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The course is everything a true golfer wants, lush fairways, firm fast greens and a decent pace of play. Very reasonable green fees.
