In summary

Tally Mountain Golf Course is praised for its beautiful, scenic setting and friendly, attentive staff, with some visitors highlighting the quality of the food and the well-maintained pool area. However, there are recurring criticisms regarding course conditions, such as poorly maintained greens and fairways, and issues with management and communication, including unannounced changes to tee-time policies and tournament schedules. The challenging layout and relaxed dress code receive mixed feedback, appealing to some while frustrating others.

It’s surrounded by beautiful, forested sections and plenty of steep hills, which I absolutely love. The scenery alone is worth the visit. The staff, overall, are excellent. I'd say 99% of them are kind, helpful, and easy to talk to. The desk and kitchen staff in particular are topnotch, friendly, attentive, and great at what they do. The food is surprisingly good, too. The club sandwich is one of the best I’ve had (as long as they have turkey or ham in stock), and the fried chicken sandwich is honestly better than one from a well-known local spot I won’t name, and it’s less than half the pric…

worse golf course ever! i’m a new player and played 9 hole and me and my buddy got accused of playing 18 because “it took us to long”. management don’t communicate with workers and the workers don’t even know the rules for the golf course. 👎🏼 wouldn’t waste my money.

This course is just ok! But they are what's wrong with golf today. Letting ppl play in just t-shirts. There is no golf etiquette from staff or patrons. Golf carts were full of trash. Ppl driving carts all over par 3. It was 85° not one water jug filled. A lot of fairways have large areas missing grass. Great course if you wanna good ole boy course and not play gentlemans game.

Played on April 29, 2025. This is Mountain Golf. Use a cart unless you are in top physical condition. Should you wonder off the fairways, which is easy to do with the number of hills, you will find tons of poison ivy and oak. On this particular day the entire course including the greens had been aerated. This made for some very bumpy greens. The biggest factor for the low rating is the grounds keeping staff was not trained in golf etiquette at all. After teeing off at one hole, we picked up our balls and moved to the next hole because the three mowers on the fairway did not give us the right…

I hate this golf course. Fairways are not kept well. The greens are horrendous; some of the worst I’ve played. This is the only golf course I play where you can hit a good drive and still lose your golf ball….even in the summer. Very rough layout. Not a good course to play if you have a bad back. It will beat you up.

Nice people. Course is typical of one in the country. Only one around for miles. Course is kept well.

We went Saturday February 8th and there was no marshal to keep things going smoothly. We were rushed and didn’t even get to play all of the course. We went in and expressed we weren’t happy with it. The two young girls inside were sweet but didn’t know what to do because the manager wasn’t there and the marshal had left at 2pm. The manager got on the phone with us and said she would call us back with a day for us to come back and play on them. My fiancé just talked to the owner and he was extremely rude. We have spent a lot of money up there and we have never complained, even though we could h…

Great atmosphere. Just finished Middle School Golf season. We played 3 tournaments there and then they hosted the MS Championship tournament and it was great experience each time. Nice grounds, staff very helpful and friendly and Manager went above and beyond to ensure every parent had a golf cart for the finals.

This course is in the middle of nowhere, and the clubhouse isn't anything to get excited about, but the course is absolutely beautiful. Best greens I have played on all year. It was pretty challenging of a course for beginners like myself but a lot of fun. Didn't try the food, so I can't speak on it, but for the price you pay you most certainly get your money's worth.

Never once has this place required tee-times when I have been here. Showed up today and was told that they now do tee-times. No post on Facebook to let people know. Completely ruined my golf plans for the day.

1. Only walk if you are top 10 percentile of in shape humans. Some green to tee walks are LONG and it's mountain golf through and through 2. For a dollar a hole you're not gonna find greens even remotely as nice as these. The layout is fun and you have to make some tricky shots. Well worth the 50 minute ride from Atlanta!

Weird course layout. Par 4’s play like 5’s and some of the par 5’s are two miles long. 14th is a 270 yard par 3. Cart felt like it was going to die multiple times but did make it through. It was my first time playing this track and some of the regulars that were familiar with the layout were teeing off while I was still on the “fairways” so I skipped a few holes to get ahead of them. And I don’t play slow. I can usually do 18 in about 3 hours. Course tends to punish some good drives and shots. Huge hills so if you mid play some balls be prepared to hike. Personally don’t know if it’s worth $43…
