Stoneybrook Golf Club

We really had a nice day here today. Course was in good condition even though the greens are a little slow...I suspect because of no rain. Pace of play was good, just over 4 hours.

The Course is a well-maintained and enjoyable course that caters to players of all skill levels. The layout is fair but challenging, with water hazards and bunkers strategically placed throughout the round. The fairways are in good condition, and the greens are fast and roll true, adding a nice level of difficulty—especially on downhill putts. Designed professionally, managed like a muni. For how expensive it is, it’s full of cheap housing, the rough is thinning all over the place, the fairways are full of dead patches, and the greens didn’t roll true. I feel bad but there’s a guy at the counter that has an a grating voice who repeatedly and loudly tried answering my questions when I wasn’t asking him. I’m pretty sure they charge for range balls. I was excited to golf here based on other reviews but I was very disappointed. Highway noise was bad on 5 of the holes. The one redeeming quality was a few very beautifully designed holes.

I haven’t played the course and wasn’t really interested, but the practice facility is excellent. There’s a bunker with a big lip for working different shot types, plus a chipping area and putting green. The range itself is well-lit until 9 PM, with spacious bays and high-quality mats. What stood out most to me was the convenience. You can tap to pay or use a card right at the ball machine next to the bays, no need to go into a clubhouse or deal with codes, which I really appreciate. Canadian golfer down for weekend. I’d say this course was worth the $180cdn. Good tee boxes, nice fairways, greens a little patchy but still roll pretty pure and decently fast. Lots of water where your tee shots land. Feels pretty open on tee shots but some long par 3s. Free range that you hit into water is cool.

The guys who greet you at the bag drop are the nicest, most courteous I’ve ever seen. Teaching pro Chase is the best. Course is very nice and brand new mats on the range.

In town for work and heard good things. Driving range was fun, ball machine takes credit card and they gave me some nice demos to hit with. 10/10 recommend. Will make time to play the course next time!

Enjoyed warming up at the driving range, then a scenic course. I am a casual golfer, by that I mean 1-5 times a year, this course was competitive for me and challenging for sure.

I showed up for a tee time for a foursome booked over the phone. Upon check in, I was informed that we did not have a tee time at THIS Stoneybrook. I must have booked a tee time at another course in SWFL called Stoneybrook. Instead of turning us away on a beautiful Sunday morning for golf, the pro shop fit us in, and gave us a discounted rate for the confusion!!! Normally I would say everything was great but today what wasn't great was not the golf but the service. They were extremely busy today I will give them that. We stopped at the snack bar at the turn asked for a hot dog mind you it was 12pm. Lately they never have anything. It was oh you want chips ah no girl I want a fricking hotdog. Then we saw the cart girl on hole 2 played 18 and never saw her again not one single time. Just got my first hole in 1 at Stoneybrook yesterday on No 5 - par 3 from the whites! 2 witnesses with me. Nonchalant response from the pro shop, but based on prior reviews that’s to be expected.
