In summary

Stone Creek Golf Club is appreciated for its picturesque setting, challenging layout, and friendly staff, with some visitors enjoying the well-maintained greens and reasonable pricing. However, several players have expressed concerns about the course's maintenance, particularly the condition of fairways and bunkers, and the slow pace of play due to inadequate marshaling. Despite these issues, the course remains a popular choice for its scenic views and overall value.

Don’t let the Road side fairways lure you into play. Found this to be one of the worse courses to play. Lots of bald dirts spots on the course, not well kept. Starts at the club house and just keeps on to the golf course. Not to mention the pace play is well over 4 hours with no Marshall to speed up play or to wrangler those groups that bring there significant other as the driver then start letting them play as soon as they are out of sight of the club house. Save your $57 and pick a better course bid my opinion. Good luck and Hit’em straight 🏌🏽

If you want to pay too much for a poorly maintained golf course this is the place for you. However much they pay their greens keepers it’s too much. They would rather paint their greens than actually properly water and culture them. The driving range is closed for a week anytime it rains because they don’t know what a proper irrigation system is and they will still charge you almost $40 on a Monday to play on the course where any bunker is either just rocks or actually a water hazard. The only good thing about this course is that if you walk the tree lines at all here you will leave with more…

Played Stone Creek recently and overall had a good experience. The staff were very friendly, the price was reasonable, and the greens were challenging, which made for an enjoyable and competitive round. The main issue was the very slow pace of play. There didn’t appear to be a marshal on the course to help keep things moving, and several groups ahead played quite slowly. It would help if the course encouraged newer or less experienced golfers to maintain pace so everyone can enjoy their round. On weekends, expect the round to take around 4½ to 5 hours, which can be frustrating. With better pa…

Ehh, it's cheap. First time here and the course was just okay. Greens were slow and rough. Driving range was closed so I could not warm up. But the price was right. Will go again and maybe it'll be in better shape.

This course would be real jewel if the fairways were in better condition and there was sand in the bunkers. You have a fantastic layout but maintenance will be the death of this course if something isn’t done. I’m sure that’s super expensive but the course is getting played a lot because its the only course in Sherman. If this course had the improvements I mentioned and a grill/restaurant, you would rival all the courses in Plano and Dallas. People would come from everywhere to play. At this point, I only play this course alone. I’m too embarrassed to invite my friends from Plano, Dallas, etc.…

Played on 12/21/25 and the course was packed, but the Marshall did not manage the rate of play. We teed off on 18 and he drove up as I was in my backswing in my second shot and said he was kicking us off because it was late, even though there was still about 20 minutes of daylight left. He didn’t let us finish the round. Additionally, whoever did the pin placement must hate people, because almost every hole was at an angle on a hill maybe 6-10 feet from the fringe. Holes 2, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11, 15, and 16 were all terribly placed. Especially 16, which you could clearly see the left side of the hole…

One of our favorite courses to play as it’s also one of the closest to us from home. I love the greens here. It’s woodsy in nature, the elevation changes are beautiful, the staff is always welcoming, and they upkeep it very well.

Course was in good shape for the 2 holes we played. Staff was friendly. Great value. I am a little disappointed that the rain check we got, after only being able to complete about 1 1/2 holes, was $25 when the green fee was $42

Such a hidden beauty in the Sherman area. Amazing old world feel that transport you back to a more slow time. Also a great price for such a really somewhat picturesque landscape. Not the best on the fairways but the greens are nicely maintained. Looks as if I found my new home course as I will be back a lot!

This backyard field is exactly that! This isn't a golf course (maybe the front 9). Everyone in my group hit a shot down the fairway and lost our ball on at least 4 occasions each! Greens condition on the back 9 was awful. There were huge tire tracks (maybe a tractor) all over the fairways. All the bunkers were over grown with grass (should have been only sand). The overall visual of the course is awful. We paid $42.22 each after tax. They should have paid us to play! Maybe its worth about $5 for 18 holes, MAYBE! On a good note, the staff was cool. NEVER EVER EVER EVER playing there again.

The greens and tees are really looking great!! 👍 Always happy with the service and the staff. The new carts with ball and club washers attached make life easy keeping your clubs and golf balls clean and ready. Even when the rain forces us to cart-path-only, we have a wonderful time playing at Stone Creek!
