In summary

Spuyten Duyval Golf Course is appreciated for its affordability and straightforward layout, making it a suitable choice for casual, quick rounds, particularly for those looking to practice their irons. However, many visitors express concerns about the course's deteriorating condition, including indistinguishable fairways and rough, overgrown sand traps, and general maintenance issues. While the staff receives positive remarks for their friendliness, the overall experience is often marred by the course's upkeep challenges and occasional issues with tee time management.

For 20$ I guess this is a decent course to play is you are not expecting much. The course is in really aweful shape with the fairways being hard as rock. The ball really rolls forever. Greens are in a little better shape. Not impressed. Would rather spend an extra 10$ and golf a respectable, well taken care of, course.

No frills, no fuss, open to the public, lots of water hazards but no sand traps golf course. A fairly easy 9 hole course with a driving range, Cottonwood is as simple as it can get. Good for a quick Niner and cheap too. My only complaint are the hoards of mosquitoes. After a rain, the course stays a bit soggy. There are a number of short holes, good for practicing your irons.

Never in good shape. It is very run down and you can't tell the difference between the fairways and rough. The holes do have some character to them though and often can play for fairly cheap.

Kind of a moot point but I played the West 9 and South 9 courses today. Was dark, cold, windy and wet for my only rounds at this course. It will permanently closed as of Thursday so it was kinda fitting. Never got to play the East 9 as it was just too much. The course has great history from 1930's, being founded and helped designed by Jermain. Happy to see it'll be a part of the metro parks, as he would have wanted. Sad to see an old gem go but she really should be the wetlands she originally was because there was water laying everywhere after not much rain for months around the area. Good bye…

Just terrible... would rather play Tanglewood and that's saying something. Fairways either rock hard or covered in weeds. Sand traps are black with who knows what kind of sand. Water smells worse then the morning dumps I have. Finally the staff, the older lady super nice nothing against her. But the old man was offended that we were playing 18 because he had leagues going... do yourself a favor pay the extra and go to a nicer course and avoid at all cost!!

If could give zero stars I would. Between cottonwood and this one you might as well save your money and play on a real course. You will lose more balls in the middle of the fairway than any courses I have ever seen.

Golf course is in bad shape. All sandtraps are now grown over. Can't tell the rough from the fair way. Sad to see how run down its getting.

I Golf a lot and this place is in terrible shape. Probably won’t play here ever again, but if you like budget Golf then this place does actually have some character to its holes.

Great folks we go there every year to get together with Transfers Local 20 for golf outing and Steak Dinners. A great place to have company or singles outings.

This course has went way down hill over the past couple years. Don't waste your money here anymore. Cant tell what the fairway is and where the rough is. Zero stars

I think this course is closing next year and becoming a botanical garden. Going to miss all you can golf after 6
