In summary

Springfield Golf Club is widely praised for its well-maintained course, challenging layout, and scenic setting, with many highlighting the fast greens and friendly, attentive staff, particularly the starter, Fred. The club is considered a top choice in the Charlotte area for its value and overall experience. However, some visitors have noted issues with slow pace of play and occasional staff rudeness, suggesting room for improvement in these areas.

I recently played at a course with a $175 fee for 18, this course smoked it in every way for half the price. The staff is amazing and the greens are insanely good! I mean the fairways were perfect too, I wish I lived in the area so I could come every week! I WILL BE BACK. Whoever said the fairways are thin, you probably need lessons. The course has completely normal challenging obstacles, nothing is too long or to narrow. Top tier course!

Always a great time at Springfield! Course is in great shape and is starting to green up nicely for the end of March. Aaron and his staff do an amazing job and it doesn't go unnoticed. Don't pass on this Charlotte gem.

Springfield GC Positives 1. Well manicured greens, fairways, tees 2. Beautiful clubhouse and surrounding lounge areas 4. Large putting green closely matches course (earning the second star) Negatives 1. Golf course is a great challenge while also being a great bore. Nothing memorable except the slow play 2. Driving range poorly maintained; golfers don’t like mats, but mats are better than dirt. If you can’t maintain the range, move players to your “state of the art” turf section. Lots of good targets to chunk your wedges at though. 3a. The only clubhouse staff worse than Springfield is the o…

I really enjoy playing here. Course is in great condition for what it is. My only gripe is that the rangers do not keep players moving. Also there is a group of members who play ridiculously slow (8-9am groups usually), drive all over the golf course (par 3, greens, put 1 footers, etc) and basically hold up everyone behind them. Such a shame the club cannot manage this better. People complain and nothing done. Also the guys need to keep pace and know golf etiquette.

One of the best golf courses in South Charlotte. Always in great condition, challenging, and fun. Staff always happy to be there and provides great service from the pro shop to the starters and everyone in between.

For a public/semi-private golf course, Springfield is the best in the greater-Charlotte area on the SC side. The course is well maintained and challenging and the amenities are sufficient. Specifically, the starter Fred, is a wonderful guy. He's very gregarious and stays on top of the flow to make sure everyone tees off on time. He does a wonderful job and I enjoyed getting to know him a little bit. Definitely make sure you see him when you play there.

Beautiful course and very friendly staff. The course is the perfect challenge. Coming in from out of state on a golf trip with family and I’m glad we chose this course.

Consistently the best public courses in CLT metro area. I play frequently at public and private courses and the greens at Springfield are always one of the best for a public course. The layout is fun and challenging, one of the more difficult courses in the area (this can be an issue for some). I routinely get around for 18 in 4:10 - 4:20 on the weekend. Rangers keep things moving best they can when it gets backed up, but I don’t see that happen very often. For the price, this place can’t be beat.

Hardest public course around. A satisfying and challenging golf experience. Would benefit from some capital investment to update overall course conditions.

The course is in above average condition but, the staff are far below average and since it is the staff and atmosphere which Trump the material thing.... I can not understand the "our stuff don't stink" atitude. Simple rudeness.

In the area on vacation, and this was an awesome experience. Challenging course, great layout, amazing shape, perfect greens, we were more than impressed with the conditions for the price we paid. The people giving this course negative reviews clearly have their egos bruised or something, you can’t objectively say this is anything less than a very good track. Will be back.
