In summary

Southern Oaks Country Club is generally appreciated for its friendly staff, unique and challenging course layout, and affordability, making it a popular choice for golfers of all skill levels. The course is noted for having well-maintained fairways and tee boxes, though some visitors have pointed out that the greens and drainage could use improvement, particularly after rain. Ongoing renovations and improvements are promising, but some areas still need attention to enhance the overall golfing experience.

All in all a fun course and friendly staff! Definitely will be back! I was rather impressed with some of the greens and how great they rolled, but then other greens were pretty rough whether dead spots or browning from lack of water. Fairways were okay, lot of them needed to be cut shorter IMO and then there were couple holes where the cart paths needed to be redone. Great value course and lots of fun unique holes!

I’ve played here quite a lot over the last year, the only reason it’s not a 5 star course is because the greens are not 100% as well as some of the fairways. Some of these places need better drainage so they can open up the days after it rains.

The fairways and tee boxes are very nice, the greens need some work. Overall a good experience. Staff very friendly and helpful

Great 18 holes. For a public course it is fairly well kept. The course has it's challenges. I intend to play there again.

Pleasantly surprised by the friendly pro shop, the condition of the greens — and fairways. And for the price you can’t beat it locally. I’m going to be a regular out here.

The course was in pretty good shape but there needs to be some sort of Marshall or starter because there was a group of six playing and also singles that could have been paired up with others.

New golfer, but this is the 3rd course I've been to. First one was really nice but way expensive. Second was cheap but absolutely awful to play on. This course was the perfect middle ground. Nice enough fairways and greens, and didn't seem really uppity. Still going to try other courses in the area, but so far this one is my favorite and I'll be back for sure. Several challenging holes, but all very playable for even a beginner
