In summary

Shelbyville Country Club is frequently praised for its well-maintained course, challenging layout, and friendly staff, with many golfers enjoying the variety and strategic elements of the course. The club offers a pleasant setting with mature trees and rolling hills, and amenities like a sports bar and outdoor seating add to the experience. However, some visitors have noted issues with course maintenance, such as uncut grass and slow greens, as well as a lack of clear signage and yardage markers, which can lead to navigation challenges on the course.

Family in town and we just called to inquire about golfing and the rudest kid answered the phone. Gave the exact attitude people think of at country clubs, stuck up, snotty and rude people. I would NEVER recommend this place. I'm pretty embarrassed actually because I recommended they call this place.

Staff aren’t the brightest rays of sunshine but the course is in good shape. The pro is a nice guy for sure. Great pace of play

Great place to play golf. I love it and play it twice in 2 weeks. I live in Louisville, so it's an easy drive. The staff that runs the place is great. It can get you in trouble at times if you get behind some of the big trees they have. Other than that, you only need the driver a couple of holes. The rest are iron play.. Greens are soft and mid to fast, and they are excellent place to play in the winter...

awful. i read the reviews thinking i was finding a hidden gem. i could not have been more wrong. first of all, there were no range balls at the range when i got there!!! i waited 20 min for someone to fill up all the treys with balls!!! the range was not cut and the grass was like hitting out of the rough. inexcusable. the course itself sucks. fairways were long and overgrown. rough was fine. bunkers were decent. greens were atrocious. extremely bumpy and slow. the design of the course is atrocious. not surprising as i am familiar with the course designers work and he has not put together one…

I’ve only played this course a couple of times but on both occasions I had such a great experience. Lots of shot shaping opportunities with so many chances for creative shots. Some small greens, some large.. they rolled true. Tucked pins, accessible pins, elevation changes, so much variety. They must have a great grounds crew. Challenging but fair. I always judge a course by its bunkers, and theirs were good quality. I didn’t catch the gentleman’s name working the pro shop but he couldn’t have been more welcoming especially explaining the long distance between some of the tee box’s but signage…

Just played at the club for the first time in 2018. I was very impressed with condition of the course. The staff was friendly. The addition of the sports bar and expansion of outdoor seating was a nice improvement. I was sad to hear that Greg was no longer with the club though. With all that, I’m looking forward to joining the club in the near future!

Very tight fairways, small greens. Good shape for February. Staff was awesome. Forgot my range finder and the staff held it for over a month.

The golf course is in pretty good shape, except for two or three of the greens that had bare spots and patches to fix bad areas. The fairways were very good and the greens were very fast. I will go back to play the course again. It is a little tricky to find the next hole when you are past the 3rd hole.
