In summary

Shaftesbury Glen Golf & Fish Club is praised for its well-maintained course, engaging layout, and friendly staff. The course features wide fairways, elevated greens, and ample amenities, including GPS-equipped carts. However, some visitors have noted issues with course maintenance activities during play and occasional slow pace of play, particularly on busy days. Additionally, the ongoing construction of nearby condos and homes has been a point of contention for some guests.

Everyone here from the pro shop, to the starters were all very friendly. Pace of play was great. 3 of us played 18 in under 3.5 hours. The course is in great shape. A few patchy fairways, but most were nice and being repaired where necessary. Very few weeds, greens were mostly in good shape. Gps in the carts. I loved the layout, its forgiving yet challenging.

Last minute tee time after the first course was a complete let down. We arrived to a welcoming clubhouse, were sent off early which was a nice surprise. Course conditions were great, challenging layout but forgiving if you missed the generous fairways. Greens were rolling nicely with engaging pin positions. We didn't see anyone in front of us or behind us until the last hole. Was a enjoyable experience and will be back to play a full 18

This is a nice links style course burrowed within a small community. A fun to play course with an amazing layout and tons of elevated greens. The fairways and rough were kept in great shape although the tee boxes and greens could have been better. Friendly staff and a great cart girl made for an enjoyable experience. Would recommend and play again.

I played Shaftesbury Glen a while back during a Myrtle Beach golf vacation. I immediately loved the course! The style has always been one of my favorites and the course was in great shape. I am looking forward to playing there again.

Played here this past Friday (April 25th). The course was in great condition. The greens were a bit slow but got a little faster by 11 am. The range and putting green are a plus; they may just extend the range area on busy mornings. The clubhouse is super nice, and the food area was super busy due to a group of 30 showing up at once, but the course workers handled it well. We loved it! Definitely a beautiful course with cool cart paths.

Shaftesbury was one of the courses that hosted the Vetrans Classic this year. The course was well maintained and provided enough risk reward options to score or take a big number. The staff was outstanding and very supportive of 100 plus veterans. Thank Shaftesbury team for hosting and I hope to play there again next year.

I’m a local and I’ve played a lot of golf around Myrtle Beach. The course itself was very nice. Each hole is laid out right in front of you. Greens and traps were also very nice. Unfortunately — the staging area is a joke!!! We were behind a 5SOME on a Saturday morning. That same group was drinking a large bottle of Fireball in front of the bag drop guys at 7:40am (no way they bought the bottle in the clubhouse) and no one said a word to them. The smell of marijuana is relevant at VARIOUS points of the golf course. We were the second group out and we quit after 15 holes because it was a 5+ hou…

We'll maintained. Pretty flat, elevated greens. Nice fairways with lots of well manicured waste bunkers. Very nice staff but the mowers didn't seem to care that we were trying to play.

A brisk January day but our round was good. Greens rolled nice and true. Played today and the course was in really good shape, even with the lack of rain here. Had a short rain early but cleared out in an hour or so. Greens were nice and plenty of faitlrway grass too.

Great course. Fairly open but plenty of traps and waste areas if you get out of the fairways. Greens and fairways in great shape, will go back.

Really fun course, great range, and good prices. My only complaint is that they're building condos and houses on every single inch they can. A few of the holes are right next to heavy construction the whole way, and tee boxes are moved to make room for the equipment, which is pretty annoying. It's sad to see that some places where you used to play through the woods are now just completely surrounded by homes or future homes. It's still a great course with really nice greens and fun to play. But tearing down all the trees and packing the area with more and more homes kind of takes away from it…
