Robert A Black Golf Club

I play Black a couple times a week and it is an absolute gem in the CPD system. The pro staff are super friendly, the course is fun (if a tiny bit short), and the conditioning is absolutely fantastic for a $25 muni. Tee boxes are well-kept, despite the high number of rounds they get each week, fairways are well-maintained, and greens look great. They don’t roll super fast but they are really nice and free of ball marks. Good short game training area too. Love this place.

From the moment I arrived, this neighborhood 9-hole golf course impressed me. The course and clubhouse were impeccably clean and well-maintained, offering a comfortable and pleasant atmosphere. The manager was exceptionally friendly and attentive, providing top-notch service. Everything needed for a smooth round of golf was perfectly arranged, making for a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Overall, it was a fantastic visit, and I look forward to returning! ⛳🌟

What a great course. High quality 9 hole course with long, medium and short holes. They really take care of it. Staff is super friendly and laid back which I love too.

By far my favorite course in the city, incredibly great value and great course especially in comparison to other courses within the city. I feel Robert Black time and time again brings out the best people to come play and have always had fantastic experiences with everyone I’ve been paired up with. The staff is also so fantastic, can’t recommend this course enough!

Love this course that I have been playing since I was a kid. The staff and maintenance crew are doing an excellent job of taking care of customers and the course is kept in great shape. Lance in the pro shop is great to all customers!

If you're looking for a course among all the CPD Golf options to be your "home course", let it be this one! The course is in fantastic shape, the layout is inviting and challenging in the best ways. Most importantly, the staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and encouraging. Huge shout out to Lance, Mike, Ed, and the rest of the crew! I'm very happy with my regular outings to Robert A. Black. Try it out and no doubt you will want to keep coming back!

Great course for the city. We had 3 in our group - myself, my brother, and his wife. We were paired with a guy who was extremely kind and easy-going. Unfortunately, we hit pretty bad traffic and ended up being 1 minute late for our tee time. I pulled up to the tee and my brother and his wife trailed behind me. I apologized for being late and the starter (older guy) was EXTEMELY rude to me, rushing me to get going, despite the fact that the guys had not even teed off yet. I hit from the ladies tees. Hands-down, the best place to play in the city! If you play early enough, they got coffee and snacks for you. Also, the The grounds crew works super hard on making that place look amazing. I only know this because I play there every day, but don’t tell my wife that 😎

This place is Awesome. It is a hidden gem in Chicago golf. I have played all of the Chicago Park district courses and this course has the best staff and the best course conditions. The course is well taken care and is always fun.

The course is very well maintained. Perfect variety of holes & distance wise. Shoutout to Lance & the staff for providing a welcoming atmosphere & for finding my necklace I had lost on the course!
