In summary

Riverside Hills Golf Club is frequently praised for its well-maintained course, challenging layout, and friendly staff. Many visitors appreciate the excellent condition of the greens and fairways, as well as the strategic placement of bunkers that add to the course's challenge. However, some reviews mention issues with booking procedures and occasional delays caused by course management decisions. Despite these concerns, the overall experience is often described as enjoyable and accommodating.

Rain delay means delayed start for booked tee time. We called all morning as we had a 9:50 tee time. We called at last check in time at 12 and were informed everyone who booked after 12 were honored and the rest of us just suck it. Not the way it’s done and super disappointed in the handling of this. Guy even laughed on phone when it was questioned.

I booked a Saturday morning tee time one day prior. The lady stated I would be paired with a twosome at 1020. When I got to the course the twosome was changed to a foursome. The staff was very accommodating and paired me with two others with a similar tee time. One of the gentlemen in the pro shop did a nice job showing me where everything was while checking in. It was my first time in San Angelo and the first time at Quicksand. The course was very fun, weather was great, playing partners were amazing, and pace of play was good too. The courses draw is their bunkers and I did well to avoid the…

Fun public course. The staff is very friendly. We didn’t have a tee time and they were able to get us on pretty quickly. The greens are in pretty good shape, be prepared for lots of sand! We got through 18 holes in just over three hours. It was a lot of fun.

It's a good course. I have enjoyed it. There are lots of bunkers and more on the way. My only complaint would be the number of rocks in the bunkers. The greens and fairways are great. Just stay out of the sand!

This is an actual diamond in the rough. If you're a long hitter, this course will challenge you...better be accurate with your driver or you will find sand or a full rough. Even the par fives will question driver off the tee. (I played from the Gold.. Black is even more challenging). As for the course it's self; I couldn't lay carpet prettier than these fairways! Greens read true and roll straight. Course Marshall is kind and helpful along with the beverage cart lady. Very enjoyable.

The course is great but the guy Mark on Tuesday afternoons is a total Jerk. Pay good money why do i have to deal with someone so negative. Booked a 2 man 18 hole course and he tried to link me and my buddy up with another team 15 minutes after our tee time. Course was beautiful and went smooth we round the back 9 and Mark sent 3 teams to the back 9 in front of is so it was all a waiting game. Some old dude came by and was like gotta have carts returned by 7. Like why would you send 3, 2 man teams in front of us on the back 9. Course great Mark sucks.

Good course with a lot of sand traps. Pro shop had a good restaurant and plenty of gear.

I really want to give this course 5 stars. It is the best public golf course we have in 90 miles unless you want to go to Abilene. It is absolutely archaic for the fact that I cannot go online to setup a tee time. I know they have the infrastructure setup to enable online tee times. Having to call and setup a tee time is really out dated. Other than that this is my favorite course to play in this area.

The course is nice. We enjoyed everything except the bunkers. When I went there years ago they had beautiful bunkers. That’s in there name. But now they are terrible. Small amount of loose dirt then you hit hard pack. Took my sons there for their first time. They were very disappointed. I talked all the bunkers up, but was in correct.

great course, staff and Marshall good folks. but seems they play favorites to there locals. there local think they own the course, hit into you. and they expect you to step a side while they play. the staff knows, not for sure if they need our money once a week. i’ve seen several golf courses go under not treat everyone as customers. said to see.
