What People Say

In summary

Placid Lakes Country Club has received mixed feedback from visitors, with some appreciating the friendly staff and the affordability of the course. However, many reviews highlight significant maintenance issues, including overgrown fairways, poor green conditions, and unkempt sandtraps, which detract from the overall golfing experience. The restaurant has also faced criticism for inconsistent service and food quality, though some patrons have enjoyed the dining atmosphere and menu offerings.

Is permanently closed, overgrown and gone over 7 months ago. Casa Taquela, a nice Mexican restaurant is now located where the former country club was.

This golf course is closed and overgrown, not maintained any longer.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Course is rough, shaggy and slightly unkempt. Sandtraps were crude and not well maintained. Disappointed. Not likely to return as there are many courses that offer competitive rates nearby.

This course could be good, but it isn't maintained at all from the looks of it. Greens have large holes in them from animals or idiots, and all they've done is fill them in with sand from the traps. Tee boxes are just ate up. I could go on, but won't. While price is right, just wish they'd keep the course in decent condition.

Don’t waste your money or time going here. Paid 32.00 per person and left aftter 9 holes. Worst course I have ever played. Years ago it was much nicer. They have just given up on it. Won’t be surprised if it closes

I’ve played a lot of golf courses around the USA the past 40 years or so…….and this course ranks as the WORST….from the tee boxes, to the non-existent fairways, to the absolutely worst greens……hands down the winner by a long shot. The only saving grace?…..dirt cheap for Florida in February

Most unkept course in the county. Lots of weeds on the fairways that make it hard to distinguish a ball, all of the tee boxes are full of weeds and very patchy. Putting greens are atrocious with more dirt than green. Very disgusting course. It needs to be shut down for a serious makeover: what a disappointment. Only plus side is that it’s the cheapest place to play in the area.

This is my preferred course. I love playing here, but the greens are so full of weeds that it's unplayable. And they're charging like they've got it all. I hope someone let's us know when the course is playable again. Until then, I'll play somewhere else. I stayed away for four months. Today I went back to see if there was any improvement. They got their irrigation working I guess. It's a bit more green than I remember. But the greens are HORRIBLE. When I was there last, the greens were full of weeds. There are way less weeds now but where there used to be weeds there are now divots and brown…

Food was good but staff doesn't have it all together yet. Manager pitched in and helped and worked with his staff. A couple more weeks and I'll probably be able to give them 5 stars. My steak was tender, flavorful and cooked to order as was my husband's salmon.

The tables are socially distanced & there is nothing extra setting on the tables . The food has been very good. Friday their specials are Seafood. They even have all you can eat Grouper fingers. If you like French Fries, they are awesome. Take the time & pay them a visit.

This was my first time here, and it was a disappointment. We only went to use the driving range and the putting green. The driving range was fine, but the putting green was in terrible condition. Multiple large areas of grass are missing, leaving uneven conditions for playing. It needs to be completely re-sodded. It has been very neglected.

Food was excellent but service a little slow. Male waiter needs to be more friendly. Maybe it was supposed to be his day off. Women waitresses very friendly. Prices a little high. But presentation and taste was very good. Like the atmosphere also.
