In summary

Pioneer Creek Golf Course is frequently praised for its beautiful and challenging layout, well-maintained greens, and friendly staff, making it a popular choice despite its distance for some. The course offers a scenic experience with its namesake creek and varied landscape, and is considered reasonably priced by many. However, some visitors have experienced issues with wet conditions, slow pace of play, and occasional negative interactions with staff, which have affected their overall experience.

I haven't played here in years, so it was fun to go back... My husband and I are new (again) to the area, so I wanted to bring him to a course I remembered playing when I was a kid. The course is just as beautiful as I remember playing it years ago. The ranger, Tom, was so kind and gave us tips on the course. The views are stunning with the namesake, Pioneer Creek, rolling throughout the course. The greens run smoothly, and the landscape is well maintained. Thanks again for a great round! We'll definitely be coming back for more regular rounds...

This is our favorite course! It has just the right level of difficulty and challenge, a great variety of landscape and beautifully maintained. The prices are extremely reasonable for how nice the course is. We love that the driving range is real grass where you hit and every single staff member is so kind, welcoming and encouraging. 10/10 recommend.

Fun course layout and great greens. Course was wet but still played well. Wind was tricky on some holes making them deceivingly long. Starter/marshall was a bit of a dud. Feel like their responsibility is to keep pace of play and get everyone off on a good foot. This guy suggested we go back and play 2 holes over to kill time while the groups ahead cleared up. Walkable course- no need for a cart.

Very good golf course in great condition with a great staff and fair pricing. I play there several times each summer even though it is a longer drive from my east metro home. Well worth it.

Fun place, usually pretty busy and right across the street from one of Minnesotas best Private courses. Ranger and staff were very nice, course was in pretty good shape. Links style layout with a lot of slope and rolling fairways. Wide open tee shots on every hole, yet pretty difficult approaches on some. The greens are extremely fast but not overly sloped. Lots of long grass throughout and water that comes into play. All around great round.

Very beautiful layout for a course. Amazing green complexes; giant greens. If you have your putting dialed in you can go low there! Nice clubhouse with friendly staff.

Played here for the 1st time and thought the layout was a lot of fun. Unfortunately, it seemed the rates were a bit high for the course conditions. Might have come on a bad time, but the fairways weren’t cut and the greens were very slow. $88 with cart and range balls didn’t justify the conditions to me.

Had the chance to play Pioneer Creek recently and had an enjoyable time with a few caveats. - The course is much wetter than initially expected. Some fairways were wet to the touch and there is still noticeable standing water in spots. - The course is in great condition other than the wet spots. It is meticulously cared for. - $54 for walking 18 is a little steep compared to other courses, although the condition of the course does set it apart. The only negative, aside from the wet conditions, was the food. I ordered a hot dog on the turn and the two young adults that were helping me seemed…

Avoid. Course ranger was rude, condescending, laughed/scoffed at a simple question, and then told us it was “common sense” to quit our round when we had 25 min of daylight left and two holes to go. it was raining heavily on the 7th hole and as we pulled up the green he was waiting to tell us to be done for the night. His demeanor was unprofessional, rude, and seems to be the norm based on the other reviews. Pretty setting, poorly run.

Played Pioneer Creek Golf Course over the weekend. I really enjoyed playing that track. The greens were excellent. The meandering creek that rolls thru the golf course is a nice touch. Good track I would recommend it

Quirky green sounding, mounding, and undulations. No. 9 is an architectural abomination. Greens roll true. Tee boxes well manicured. Local knowledge of approach shots is a must. Beware of hitting certain greens on the correct side of the hole only to discover that your ball winds up in a collection area on the other side of the green.

Never going back here again. The course is completely flooded and in terrible shape. On the first hole, the small river was an entire lake. The bridge was flooded and we had to take a 5 minute walking detour to get to the green. We started at 1:48 and played 9 holes on 2.5 hour pace. The ranger was nowhere to be found to enforce place of play. Once we reached 10, ranger told us we couldn’t go off because we played too slow and the adult league was teeing off at 10. As he told us this, we were WAITING for the group in front of us to tee off. Even the adults offered to let us go. So, how is it o…
