In summary

Old Fort Golf Course is appreciated for its affordability, friendly staff, and wide-open layout, making it a suitable choice for beginners and casual golfers. Many visitors commend the improving condition of the greens and the scenic, house-free setting. However, some note that the course can be rough around the edges, with inconsistent fairways and greens, and a lack of amenities like sand traps or GPS-equipped carts.

Friendly staff, easy to book an affordable tee time. Great place to work on your game. The greens are getting better and better every time I go. Very scenic, lots of trees and most importantly no houses surrounding the course!

Decent course for the price. Fairways aren’t really established from the rough unless you’re in the wood line. Greens are fast but course played smooth. First time playing in 18 months and shot a 99.

This course is wide open. Great for beginners or anyone just wanting to have some fun. Its only nature here, no houses or civilization. The bermuda greens have never looked so good. Overall, the course is in good shape, despite the 'fairways' being very hard. For the $30 price, there isn't a better value.

I've only started golfing the past 3 years and not only do I love it, even though I'm not very good, but I think this golf course is great. I know there are much nicer ones....but this suits me just fine. When I first started golfing there it was a little rugged...but in the 3 years I've been golfing there the owner has done a phenomenal job in getting the greens beautiful and the course looking great. The people that work there are so nice and for me...it's very affordable. I would recommend Olde Fort over and over.

It’s a solid 3 star course. You get what you pay for. Nothing fancy, but acceptable. The guy in the pro shop was friendly. The carts are old and gas, no GPS. The tee boxes were 50/50… Usually not level, and a bit choppy. There are no fairways vs rough, it’s just grass. Currently (12/2024) dormant. I honestly can’t remember any bunkers, though you can definitely see where there were some. Probably taken out for pace of play and ease of maintenance. The greens were simple, round and basic. They surprisingly rolled well, but the speed was inconsistent. The course was enjoyable. There were some un…

Olde Fort Golf Course isn't for everyone, but if you understand what you are getting into it's a hidden gem. It's a little rough around the edges, but you can't beat the price and value. Currently it's 35 bucks (cart included) for peak hour 18 holes. It's a challenging enough course and is maintained pretty well all things considered. No sand traps and the greens aren't going to rival Pinehurst, but it's a great course to get out and practice. You can't go to The Golf Barn or Top Golf and practice at a bay for the price you can get out here and play 18 holes of golf.

Have been playing this course for years and have always enjoyed it. This evening after I had teed off on 18, a staff member came out on his cart and said carts are in at 6 very rudely. He said- “ you read the rules when you signed in and carts are in at 6”. It was 5:53 when he pulled up and still plenty of daylight. I think we had time to finish half of the last hole but being that rude in his speech is completely unnecessary.

This please is a hidden gem, pretty much out in the middle of nowhere. $30 for 18 and a cart is tough to beat and the fairways are wide and mostly straight, no bunkers, very forgiving course to learn on. That being said, I played at the end of February and the greens were basically just fairways, no chance of putting really but our group met the owner out on the course and it’s clear he’s putting the work in to get it up to shape. For now, 4 stars until the greens are actually playable, but besides that it is a great course. Ps. PBR’s are only $2.50

Been coming here since I was a little kid and my visit last week was my first in about 3 years and it was the best experience ive had out here. The greens are amazing now compared to what they where 2-3 years ago, and they roll true. Still needs some work on some of the tee boxes and fairways, but you can see the efforts and hard work the owners and employees are putting in to make this course as nice as possible! I will definitely be coming back sooner rather than later this time!

Olde Fort gets 5 stars because it is exactly what me and my wife were looking for. We are very poor golfers but wanted to get out for fun 9 holes on a Sunday afternoon and didn’t want to spend big $. Weather was yucky so we had the entire course to ourselves (a golf dream). You have to understand what it is, a cheap but fun course with surprisingly good greens. No paved cart paths or perfect fairways, just go out and play golf. Looking forward to another round!

Listen, if you want a cheap place to take the clubs out and hit balls. Work on your game in less than ideal conditions, its a great place to do that. I wont speak for everyone but on my trip, greens were bad. Close to unplayable with big tufts of grass sticking up. Fairway was in decent shape but not much different from the rough. Its a great beginners course and I'll probably return at some point, but it wouldn't be my go to every time. I appreciate the people there for doing what they do and making the game more affordable.

Can’t beat the bang for the buck, and everyone was incredibly friendly. The course was in great shape, including the greens. Will absolutely be back!
