In summary

Mount Mitchell Golf Club is highly praised for its stunning mountain views, well-maintained greens, and challenging layout that tests a variety of golf skills. Visitors appreciate the friendly staff and the unique experience of playing in a picturesque setting surrounded by streams and natural beauty. However, some golfers have noted issues with the condition of the fairways and the cart path-only policy, which can be inconvenient. Despite these concerns, many find the overall experience enjoyable and worthwhile.

I played Mount Mitchell a few years ago on a golf vacation. We thoroughly enjoyed it! The course was challenging but fair, and I played it four times. The mountain scenery makes for beautiful views.

What a GORGEOUS golf course 11/10. Came and played last October for the first time and came back today for the second time and man what an improvement even, course is in top notch shape, greens are a bit slower paced but predictable. Still the most beautiful course I’ve ever played

We have played the course several times before. It us a great course mostly in the valley with terrific views of Mount Mitchell. The course was not as in good condition as in the past. The greens were good but fairways are in poor shape. We understand the new owners will be redoing all the fairways in the fall. Despite the conditions we stilled enjoyed the golf course and it’s challenges.

It's sad to hear and see the course falling apart. Let's hope after this season they put $ into this course At the 1st par 3 look into the stream and check out the trout ...bring fish food to feed them... We have played this course in the past ... let's hope they can bring it up and take it to a new level! It's such a magical place with its majestic mt top views.

Course has some great views. Greens were in great shape. They roll slow so make sure to hit it. Course didn't seem that hard, but I didnt play well. Not worth the money in my eyes. I thought it was a little expensive, especially since you cant even drive in the fairways. I have played nicer courses cheaper on the weekends. I would probably play it again but only thru the week. Fairways were decent for the most part.

I was born in Marion, and always feel such a strong sense of place when I come here. The view from the parking lot is breathtaking. Mt Mitchell and the Black Mountains almost seem to be staring down at you as you tee off on the first hole. Wonderful course, wonderful design. If you're hitting your driver and short irons well, you can eat this course up. Staff is kind and professional. Pretty no frills, which is good. Gonna be cooler this high up, so be prepared. They also get a lot of rain, and the course can get quite spongey. If you like this course, try Black Mountain and Maggie Valley as w…

Great, beautiful, fun, scenic, and fantastic. Course is so much fun and will test every club in the bag. Course has some elevation change, but it's not rediculously up and down. If I had to say there was one drawback, it would be that it's cart path only ALL the time....but that's it. Go play it!!

The sweetest views, it's a fine upscale golf course in the Mountains but have great two day packages. Play a round, stay in a condo on the course, play a second round the next day. $125 a piece. Just the views are worth it but it's a well taken care of course. It's a upscale course very nice. I highly recommend going. You want regret it, you will come away with some awesome pictures.

A surprisingly challenging course, with many tight fairways, bunker-guarded greens, wiry rough, and two crystal clear streams (the Roaring Branch & South Toe) that reappear on so many holes it's like seeing an old friend after a while. The streams have huge Rainbow Trout in them, which you can feed from several spots on the course. Fish food is available at the clubhouse. Cart path only, however. So be prepared to walk a bit more than usual. Played there last Monday, stayed at one of their condos overnight, then played Tuesday morning. Wonderful place, friendly people, great weather, and a we…

Very relaxing place, lush golf course meanders along S. Toe River with huge trout and cool water. When it’s 95 degrees in at home it’s usually about 65 at the top of the mountain.

Absolutely stunning golf coarse, i have been playing here for 15 years and each time out presents a new challenge. The prettiest coarse I have played east of the Mississippi River, and probably my favorite coarse to play ever.
