In summary

Moon Golf Club is praised for its scenic location near the airport, friendly staff, and well-maintained course, making it a popular choice for both beginners and seasoned golfers. However, some visitors have expressed concerns about increased pricing, booking restrictions for single players, and occasional issues with course maintenance and staff interactions. The course is noted for its hilly terrain, which can be challenging but adds to the overall golfing experience.

Played on 4/3/25. Course was in as good as shape as I can remember. All the rain the past week did not make the course swampy at all and only lush and green. All aspects of the course - greens, fairways and tee boxes were in good shape. Keep in mind if you have not played this course it is near the airport and in its flight path. You will have planes coming in for a landing over you every few minutes so don’t get distracted. Folks in the pro shop were were courteous. Nice day on the course.

Over priced and severely under maintained! 90% of fairways were dried up, tee boxes were not cut! Not one green was rolled prob all year. The best part about this place was the nice view of the airport off number 13 tee boxes! Will absolutely not be back. It’s a rip off for what they charge.

The husky ginger guy with the glasses isn’t the nicest chap. Seemed very edgy/moody with medium to low people skills. Didn’t smile once and wasn’t very approachable upon paying. If I didn’t know better it felt like he was offended I was trying to pay for golf. Wouldn’t you want to feel welcomed when trying to support any local business? I’m not trying to be too harsh…just what my intuition was telling me as we were interacting.

I've played over 20 rounds at MGC in the past few years and have genuinely loved the course. Unfortunately, under the new management, the course is becoming less accessible, more expensive, and less welcoming to loyal players. First, the pricing has jumped significantly this season — supposedly to a rate that “all players can enjoy,” but it’s hard to see how that holds up: 💵 Moon Township Resident Rate Increases (compared to last season): 18 holes +$7 weekday walk (now $30) +$9 weekday ride (now $47) +$5 weekend walk (now $35) +$4 weekend ride (now $52) That’s a steep increase across the b…

It's a great back up choice when your 1st choice is booked. A little too hilly to play regularly. People there seem nice. Watch where you park your car as the overflow lot is close to green on 18th hole.

$26 for 9 holes plus a cart for one person! Pretty packed but still a great time and not too long of wait times on the course. Great staff and lots of golf carts available! Really pretty course and right next to scallys!

Good course, good for people getting into the game. Friendly staff and always welcoming! Been coming here for the past 7 years and it’s my hometown course so, gotta show it some love. Very hilly but that’s Pittsburgh, can’t do much about that. I do think they need to put more netting for the back of the 18th as I did see a ball demolish the back of a car window, happy it wasn’t me nor my car but it was right next to my friends car 😬

I disagree with Sam Kinnane review Since Moon acquired the course, they have been actively investing in significant upgrades. Specifically, the carts are now in their second season, and are brand new, which is a substantial improvement. As for the greens, the maintenance team is dedicated to maintaining high standards, and believe they are currently in excellent condition for a public golf course in March, especially as they prepare for the upcoming season. They consistently work to optimize their condition. The team is committed to making this a great course for all players, including beginn…

Love this course as it is local to me and during the work week i can squeeze 9 or 18 before or after work in season. They’ve done a lot of hard work to get this course as nice as it is now. Greens rolled nicely, and the tee boxes are looking fantastic for how brutal the winter was.

These guys do a great job for a little municipal course. Has improved dramatically since the township purchased it a few years ago and it continues to trend in the right direction with improvements and upgrades. Short, hilly course with the added bonus of a great view of the landing airplanes.

Great place to golf. The staff are fantastic. Very courteous and helpful. They make your golf day experience enjoyable. The course is well managed and has its challenging holes. Great for all handicap levels. I highly recommend Moon Golf Club.

This course always seems to be in great shape. It's on the shorter side but is still challenging nonetheless. Bring your A game around the green because you will need it.
