In summary

Monroe Country Club is praised for its well-maintained greens, challenging course layout, and affordable pricing, with many appreciating the friendly staff and upgraded facilities, including simulators and dining options. However, some visitors have experienced issues with unprofessional behavior from certain staff members, particularly starters, and have noted occasional slow pace of play and maintenance disruptions. Despite these concerns, the course remains a popular choice for many golfers, offering a scenic and enjoyable playing experience.

We are members here and have been for quite some time. The course is in the best shape I've ever seen it in, with the exception of the sand bunkers and some of the tee boxes. If not for that, I would give it 5 stars. They recently opened a new facility on the premises that has food and simulators (5 of them). Great staff!

My second time coming out here and usually I dont leave horrible reviews, but my reasoning for the 1 star is the staff, in particular the grounds keeper. I drove over unto a restricted area (unknowingly) to retrieve my ball and this guy starts yelling my direction and dropping f-bombs from across the green like its his day job. In the manner that he chooses to speak to his wife or kids is not my problem, but dont go running around cussing at the guests of the establishment. You have different levels of players here and not everyone is tune with all the regulations, so corrective coaching it mo…

Glad I tried the course before purchasing a membership. Hole 1-3 sprinkler system was on called and they said they would send someone out. Hole 7 sprinklers were on again. Went to my car after the front 9 and maintenance guys sprayed my rim on my car with weed killer in the parking lot. Grass is 4inches tall in the rough next to the fairway but that’s on me I suppose. Guy in the pro shop was nice. Course maintenance seems ignorant between not knowing when to kill the sprinklers while paying customers are golfing and riding in the middle of your fairways while your on the tee box, these guys co…

The course was in excellent shape overall. Fairways were well-maintained, and the tee boxes were solid—with just a few spots showing a little wear but nothing to complain about. Greens were the real highlight: fast, smooth, and rolled true all day. If you like putting with confidence, this was the place to be. Fringes were clean and consistent, offering nice lies around the greens. The only downside? Bunkers could use a little love. They were playable, but some fresh sand would really elevate the experience. Staff were friendly and welcoming, which always adds to the round. And perhaps best…

4/21/26 Update: moved back to 5 stars since they removed or fixed the warning beep system. 2024: Normally a great experience after 25 years. Played twice in last 10 days and new warning beep system around greens and tee boxes makes it a horrible experience. Other golfers having same reaction. Beeping goes off when not near green or tee box. Distracting and annoying. If not fixed I will be going to other courses. So easy to fix!

Nice value. Decent course at an affordable price. Would have been 5 stars but one of the starters was very rude for absolutely no reason. Too bad.

A very well maintained golf course. Staff was very friendly. We got the hot deals and it was only 35 dollars for 18 holes. Recommend this place!

Course is honestly very nice. Some tee boxes on the back 9 felt uneven but nothing crazy. Greens were some of the nicest Ive played. However, the staff is not welcoming at all. Everyone there makes it feel like I am an inconvenience to them. The lady that works in the clubhouse in particular. I walked in to check in for my tee time, and was not greeted at all. I ask how they were doing and got no response. The only thing she said was “name and time?”. I told her and paid. She didn’t say anything to me after that so i walked out. The starter also had a rude tone. It’s not the first time I’ve go…

My husband and I will not be returning after our experience at the course today. I am pregnant and just starting to golf, my brother is in town so we booked a tee time and walked for 9 holes. At the first tee, the Starter came up to us, made derogatory comments about me, directly to me, and then talked loudly during my brother and husbands’ drives. He then followed us to three different holes threatening us that we wouldn’t be allowed to come back to the course because we were causing congestion. For reference, there was no one playing behind us, and at no point was anyone waiting for us. We’r…

For the money, it is really hard to beat. It’s a little bit of a drive, but a very challenging Donald Ross front nine and the back nine is like playing a completely different golf course.
