In summary

Mariners Landing Golf & Country Club is appreciated for its scenic layout and recent improvements to the clubhouse and amenities, with many noting the friendly staff and enjoyable design by Robert Trent Jones. However, there are mixed reviews regarding the course's condition, with some visitors expressing concerns about the fairways and greens, as well as issues with pace of play and the functionality of GPS-equipped carts. While some find the course to be in great shape and a good value, others feel the pricing does not reflect the current state of the course.

Fairways are tight and the greens are fairly small. Pace of play was more than four hours. The course has a lot of rough and makes it difficult to find your ball if you're not in the fairway. This definitely adds to the pace of play. The new clubhouse is very nice - get the chili cheese dog! Kudos to one of the staff members who brought us a different cart because our screen wasn't working. Carts have GPS which is nice. Beautiful scenery. Greens were in pretty decent shape. Fairways could use some TLC and keeping the rough lower will help with pace of play. Overall, a fine experience, but it's…

Depends what you are looking for. I found the people working there were nice. The course wasn’t busy on a Thursday morning. It was about $65 for 3 people to play, with a cart and a bucket of range balls. I played with my wife and 8-year old son, so it was good for us, but compared to the standards at typical golf courses, the course is in terrible condition. The greens were about as slow as putting on the fairways at most courses. The 5th hole has nice views and is fun to hit over a part of the lake.

$300+ for our foursome, Here's some photos from the course, It's in the worst condition I've ever seen. You guys should say something before paying because it's so expensive. What a joke.

Used to love coming here when I was younger but the recent “upgrades” aren’t worth the price for the experience. The fairways are still a dirt patch, and the new gps carts will totally cut off if you drive even a couple feet off the cart path onto the fairway. All that aside, after having to physically push our cart back onto the path last weekend, and wait for it to fully reboot, the course marshal came by and berated us for not playing fast enough (when we were keeping up a good pace up until that happened). Save your money and play literally anywhere else in the area. I for one will not eve…

Had not been there for several years. Impressive improvements to the clubhouse and course. Greens were in great shape. Bar and restaurant at the clubhouse, fully paved cart paths and new carts with GPS.

Course was in terrible condition, yet they are still charging $75 to play 18 holes. Fairways in awful shape, mostly burnt out and brown. The only putt I had all day that went through 100% grass was on the 18th hole and it was a 3 foot putt. Greens appeared to be spray painted clay and only about 30% grass. Will not be back, course has gone way down hill since last year.

Live four minutes down the street unfortunately every time I go to this place, let me say it a little bit different. This overpriced place with terrible fairways to get The most unprofessional rude treatment of my life from the staff at the pro shop told myself I would never go back, but for convenience went to go try one more time to play nine holes was told I was slightly over the last teatime again was only trying to play nine holes with two people website stated they were open. We had a slight rain delay, which took us 10 minutes longer to get there to be told sorry too late. You can purch…

I've been playing Mariners for 15 years, in the past it was on par with an average municipal course. Over the past two years the course has made major strides towards becoming an elite golfing destination in Southwest Virginia. The greens and fairways are consistent and well maintained, the course has been opened up - lots of the trees and shrubs that choked tee boxes and fairways have been removed. The carts are brand new and are equipped with GPS shot distance, digital scorecards and Bluetooth. The clubhouse has undergone a total renovation, the proshop is nice, but the restaurant / bar "Bru…

Overall positive experience. Sure there are some fairways that need a little love. That said for $50 what do you expect. My only gripe that stopped the 5 star rating was no starter and no course Marshalls. There was a 5-ball in front of me and they were holding up the entire course. That aside enjoyed the course the layout and the scenery. Would recommend it if you are in the area.

Mariners Club is more than the golf course, and the rest of the amenities have improved tremendously since the new owners purchased june 2020. The pools, beaches, and fitness center have a wonderful refreshing ambience with friendly , excellent staff . The quality now of this resort is at a great price for the offerings. You can rent from any company or owner privately as well, in order to spend quality time here .

Not sure what the other recent reviews are talking about, but I just played the course and really enjoyed it. Very friendly staff, reasonable price, and the course was in good shape. Really fun layout and I was basically the only person out there on a Sunday afternoon. Would definitely play again.

I played this course, September of 2025. The greens are torn up. Black all over 80% of the greens can't putt on them... The course is definitely not worth paying $70. I'm not sure why they charge so much. If they're not going to take care of the course. This is a beautiful course.I hope you get your stuff together...
