In summary

Lee's Hill Golf Club is praised for its friendly staff, beautiful course layout, and well-maintained greens, offering a pleasant golfing experience for players of all levels. However, some visitors have expressed concerns about the pace of play, overcrowding, and inconsistent course conditions, particularly regarding the bunkers and fairways. Despite these issues, the club remains a popular choice for its overall atmosphere and potential for improvement.

Lee’s Hill has not only all the equipment to enable you to play your best rounds but the staff from top to bottom have been very hospitable.(currently on my 3rd visit) I highly recommend if you’re looking for a new course near Fredericksburg to do yourself a favor and go play the full 18 here. Get you a BLT after hole 9 and a beverage choice and enjoy some solid Tee boxes, beautiful fairways, and pro-pace greens! This is a must play when staying in or near FXBG VA! great for all levels of golfers!!

The best part about Lee's Hill are the greens - they are always lush and well maintained while being a playable speed. Prices can be a bit high in the morning and pace of play can be an issue too, however playing in the afternoon on many occasions I had no issues with either of those things.

Going golfing should be a fun experience and relaxing. Lees hill stacks golfers so you’re sitting around a lot. Just bc you can get people on the course doesn’t mean you should. Space out golfers 7 minutes apart from tee times and you’d have a really pleasant experience for the people paying to play. I’m sitting behind 4 groups on hole 3. Insane.

Have been playing here for a couple of years. The greens are the best I have seen here. I think they are better than most of the courses around the area. Greens are fast and in great shape. Bunkers are clean and sand is started to be applied hole 13 green-side bunker is in great shape and is playable along with other bunkers that are starting to be playable. Overall course is in great shape. Always enjoy playing a round at Lee’s Hill.

I mean it’s okay. First Tee box im ALWAYS waiting behind one or two other carts to tee off (my exact tee time). seems like they sell the same tee time over and over. Fairways are thin with grass not growing in many areas of each hole. and then the Sand. lol, or what was once. might aswell set it on the cart path because the bunkers are straight concrete. there isn’t even a grain of sand, grass growing and tree trunks in the bunker. man just tough compared to other local courses.

Hosted a golf tournament fundraiser 3/15 at Lees Hill. I appreciate the organization leading up to the tournament, the signage they did themselves, the operations team when we arrived, the scoring and the owner presence and working along with his staff, very helpful! They facilitated a great day and I will consider them first for the next event. The comments about the course conditions, specifically the greens, are accurate, they are in rough shape. I have been in golf for 20+ years, definitely looks like it was a chemical issue, not neglect. Also appreciate the organizer letting us know about…

Played here a couple years ago and loved it. Played last year and have never seen greens in worse shape than these. Played again recently thinking they revamped in the off season but was sadly mistaken. It’s shame because the layout is super nice. The “sand” bunkers (rocks and hard dirt) and greens are not worth the $55. Staff is super friendly!

Greens and bunkers in horrible shape. Could be a very nice course but not worth the current price with the terrible greens and we played twilight. Not sure how to reply to your comment so I’ll edit my review. I’m glad to hear you are working on it. Was interested in the anniversary pass but I’ll wait to see the condition of the greens before purchasing. I understand that you are working on them but other courses with the same issues at least reflect those issues in the pricing and it’s evident before you even show up and pay to play.

Been playing here on and off for about three years, greens are currently the best I’ve seen them. With the exception of a few spots on number three. I’ve heard they have the sand to redo the bunkers, and I’m unsure what they are waiting on, but they are completely unplayable. There a few spots in some of the fairways that are completely bare and clearly need resodded. However, improvement deserves recognition, and I’m excited to upgrade this to five stars once some of the lingering issues have been addressed.

Course is a dog track. An absolute joke given the money charged. Tee boxes are nasty, greens are rough, bunkers are just sand and rocks, fairways are on there last breath, etc. The staff is very friendly and they’re definitely doing maintenance (although it’s weird to have a guy come up to the green you’re putting on and start working), but you can’t possibly rate this course any higher given the overall condition. It’s an interesting layout - very short through trees and brush. Definitely potential to be a cool spot and fun course, but you can’t possibly justify a $75 round here as it sits.

The course is in great shape considering it went through so recent sabotage and vandalism. It’s recovering nicely. Great layout and fun holes. It’s one of my local favorites with a fantastic practice area. Low cost too! Highly recommended!

Completely understand they had an issue with the greens. Saying that, the fairways are terrible, and you might as well put your ball on the cart path to hit if you play from the bunkers. Is it really that hard to get new sand in? The carts are absolutely terrible, again is it that hard to do a tune up on the carts? Brakes barely stop going down some of the hills, and has no power to start going or going up hills.
