In summary

Lake St. George Golf & Country Club is praised for its well-maintained greens, scenic layout, and overall good value, making it a popular choice among golfers. The staff, particularly in the pro shop, are noted for their professionalism and friendliness, enhancing the visitor experience. However, some guests have reported negative interactions with the owner and certain course policies, which have detracted from their enjoyment. The course's unique 27-hole layout offers variety but can be confusing to navigate for some players.

Pro shop staff and starter was great over the long weekend in August 2025. The started told us that we could play as a group of 6 since we had two tee times. Old foursome behind us called the pro shop and owner on us. We had to split and let the old farts play through. Won't be coming back so many 'miscommunications' snotty players and rude owner.

I recently played Lake St George, North Granite Ridge and Muskoka Highlands during a buddies trip in Muskoka. Lake St George is a 27 hole layout. We played the West-South combo. I believe the North course is usually played by golfers booking a 9 hole round. The course is quite scenic with a good variety of holes. There are a few blind shots, so prior experience is helpful. The course is in very good shape. The greens were superb, putted true and were moderately fast. We paid $77 for 18 holes with cart, including HST. I thought that was very good value. I would highly recommend Lake St George i…

We had the pleasure of visiting this beautiful golf course this past weekend. We had a group booking, that was handled by Kendall. She went above and beyond to ensure we had the timing we wanted for the Friday and also got us a tee time for Saturday on a very busy weekend. Everyone there was a pleasure to deal with and Kendall really made sure we were looked after. Also thanks to everyone else there for making the experience spectacular. Looks like we found our " golf spot" for our annual trip with the hockey boys. Thank you!

Have good times playing 9 with my in-laws. I had the audacity to want to try and finally play their 18 as a solo. All this week it's sparsely booked, the odd 4some. Yet I am not allowed to book. I even called to book. I have never seen this on any course..busy times guaranteed to fill up, sure, they won't let you book on an empty slot unless you call. But not a "you're screwed if you're alone and we don't have a 2 or 3some already there". I see from a review 2 years ago there was the same experience, not to mention the horror stories, so I see they're not interesting in improvement to custome…

Amazing course. But the owners would not hop off. We did nothing wrong and they were treating us like we killed there entire family. Never golfing here again.

First time playing Lake St George last Friday. Started on time and the course flowed well, greens were fantastic and overall conditioning was excellent. Played west-south and found the layout to be challenging and great variety... would play here again in a heartbeat! Too bad so many people are to lazy to rake traps though.

We really enjoyed playing 9 holes here on our way to Vaughan. The course was fun, everyone welcomed us with open arms. Would highly recommend checking it out. We will be back and play 2 of the other courses on site.

Course was nice and in great condition, but we will never come back with a group again as the owner came to yell/swear at us when our bachelor party decided to just putt out 18 together playing 4 man team scramble with no one behind us for a few holes and playing for the win between two groups. Ruined a good day of golf and didn’t allow us to finish 18 and threatened to call the police lol. They would have laughed at you on the phone. Employees were nice, but as for the owner you shouldn’t be in customer service. Loser. Don’t suggest wasting your money on this guys course. Side note we finishe…

We had a really good time at this course. The owner cruises around a bit and we chatted a bit. You can tell he just wants you to have a good time out there. Maybe we are just used to GTA prices but for 65 bucks with the power cart we thought it was pretty reasonable in terms of price. The course was in decent shape. I didn't feel like I was hitting off dry muddy hard ground ever and the greens were in good shape. Overall, we enjoyed it and thought the value was there. We will be back.

We played the 9 hole North course May 15th. Gorgeous weather; sunny 25 C with a slight cooling breeze. We played the white tees at 2,907 yards and par 36. The fairways have seen better days - sparse grass in spots but the greens were in pretty good shape; a little faster than they looked. Not too busy so a relaxing round under 2 hours. The cost was $29 plus $5 to rent a pull cart plus tax. My playing partner and I agreed that for the quality it was a little pricy. We will definitely look at other options for our next trip up in the summer.

I'm giving it 2 stars, because I find it ridiculous that this place has a higher rating (4.3) than Muskoka Bay (4.0). Muskoka Bay is an amazing, top-tier golf course. Lake St George is a mediocre-at-best course. Yes, a round at Muskoka Bay costs 4x more than this place, but it's almost worth it; you get gorgeous scenery, a well-designed, challenging yet rewarding course, and it is immaculately maintained. Lake St George felt like I was playing outside on a random field by the highway. The course layout is poorly designed (you have to go back-and-forth holes in a non-sensical manner), the hol…
