Lake Lure Golf Club is praised for its scenic views, friendly and welcoming staff, and enjoyable course layout that offers a good challenge for players of all levels. The club, which features both traditional golf and foot golf, is appreciated for its relaxed atmosphere and reasonable pricing. However, some visitors have noted issues with the greens' condition, attributed to recent weather challenges, though improvements are anticipated.

When I drove past this course on my vacation I KNEW I had to golf here. It’s simple, a quick 18, beautiful views from the hilly course, and I love that the golf house is a log cabin. The owners are the FRIENDLIEST people - and I was pleasantly surprised to find that Dale and I grew up in the same hometown. Kathy’s conversation was friendly, welcoming, and warm and my boyfriend and I are SO excited to come back to visit next time we’re in town. If you like good golf and friendly people - this is the place for you.

This is enjoyable for any level of play. the little lady and I played 18 hole and smiled even on the bad shots, it was so fun. The staff is super and helpful. The view is worth the ride or walk and the layout and greens are fun. Enjoy an old time track with all the bumps and tuffs.

Played 9 holes with my two sons and grandson which only took 2 hours. A classic layout that was fun to play but the elevation changes and uneven stances make it tougher to score than you first think. Good photo opportunities and a great time was had by all.

My husband and I live in Asheville yet we often come down to Lake Lure to play. Our own municipal course is quite nice but is often crowded, which is never the case at this sweet course. It is a Donald Ross designed course and has a good bit of challenge. There are beautiful views and a few holes where the terrain drops or peaks. It is only 9 holes but that's okay with us. Dale and Kathy are the nicest folks to have as managers and we enjoy visiting with a couple of adopted cats. We like trying different courses within an hour or so drive but keep coming back to this favorite course.

This course has a terrific layout and the fairways were perfect. The greens have been hit by the most rain in NC in recent years. They will come back when it dries up and in the meantime, just do the best you can. Many WNC greens are having this problem. Very nice people, great pro shop and carts and the course is not too long like more than 90 percent of the courses in America are. I recommend playing here.

Incredible friendly staff, but really unkept course. I played foot golf here and the holes were challenging on the steep mountain hills. I also lost a soccer ball and had to go inside the creeks to pull out several balls. The banks of the creeks appear to have poison ivy as well.

Our family stopped in today to play our first round of foot golf. Dale and Kathy made us feel like family from the moment we walked in and spoiled our children like they were their grandkids. The course was in really good condition, reasonable and a lot of fun. We definitely look forward to playing golf or foot golf there again.

I have golfed here for 25 years. Condition vary, the layout is excellent. A great morning or late afternoon 9. Enjoy Kathies flowers and Dales cigars.

Love the course! Lots of challenges. Dale was a really great host. Only problem was they had a problem with the greens this year and you just automatically should take it two putt.
