The resort offers clean accommodations and a variety of amenities, including a winery and catering services. However, some visitors have noted issues with the condition of the greens, citing crabgrass, and have mentioned that certain areas of the resort, such as the rooms and conference facilities, could benefit from updates and renovations.

The Kingwood Winery and Golf Club Resort is a great place to come and play golf. This is a wonderful mountain course. Each hole provides a unique challenge regardless of your skill level. The course conditions have been great from the tee box to the greens. The staff are so nice. Mike and David in the pro-shop treated us like family providing everything from course tips to restaurant recommendations. I highly recommend this golf course

Played golf there 2 days last week and spent one night. The room was very clean. The golf was in really good shape overall. A few greens needed some attention but I understand the difficulty with keeping greens up. The landscaping around the course is much better than last year. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. I will return in the future for another stay/play.

I’m surprised at how low this course is rated. This is the most enjoyable course I’ve ever played. Yes, at $70 for seniors, it’s a tad pricey but I’ve never seen so many elevation changes and the course is beautiful. We played during peak color and thoroughly enjoyed the scenery combined w the elevations. The greens did have a lot of dying crabgrass but it didn’t really affect putting. Worth 5 stars still! Beautiful!

The course layout is nice and the fairways are in good shape. I have never seen greens as poor as these. You are actually putting over weeds(crabgrass according to other postings). The course has different levels of infestation. One hole is so bad that the fringe (second cut) is entirely crabgrass. The most disturbing part is that there appears to be no ongoing weed remediation. There should be some transparency of these conditions at the time of booking. Some greens are much worse than others. Pace of play is also very slow.

Love this golf course. The layout is awesome. There is not one boring hole on the course and the conditions are very good. The staff is great too.

Went to play 9 holes at 3:00. There’s about 15 cars in the parking lot but they “don’t have any more carts available”. What a joke of a place.

This was our last stop on a day of winery tours. Customer service was wonderful the sweet bartender was very busy but took time with us. The sweet wine tasting was absolutely delicious. We would recommend trying this place

Long time local here. I know the course has struggled in the past with utilization, but it seemed like they were turning things around. I was wrong. They lost the one person that was positive, friendly and helpful with customers/players. Folks working the pro shop are horrendous. Three interactions now and I’m done. Good luck.

Just returned home from our 3-day knitting retreat (Carolina Fiber Retreats & Tours) at Kingwood. Overall a solid B grade. BTW, we booked 33 guestrooms with 53 retreaters participating. Kingwood is an aging resort in a gorgeous setting tucked into the North Georgia Mountains. Its golf course has exquisitely manicured greens and mature landscaping. The pro shop and welcome center are impressive to any first time visitor and guest. The pool area has recently been upgraded and measures up nicely to similar resorts. I didn’t check out the spa but one of our retreaters did comment positively about…

Currently more of a tasting room in a resort setting than a true winery experience, as the Wines are produced off site. They have planted vines on the property to enhance the experience. Views from the tasting area adjacent to the restaurant are very nice, and staff friendly if not thoroughly up to speed yet on the wines. They offer 5 vinifera style wines (Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sovingnon and a red blend), as well as several sweeter muscadine wines. The 5 drier wines were all quite drinkable. The Chardonnay is done in stainless, so is crisp and citrussy. My favorite was the…

Beautiful grounds! Certainly has potential but the rooms desperately need a refresh and renovation. Our room smelled so badly of mold and mildew we actually packed up and left at 10pm driving back to Atlanta not even staying the night. Cracks and holes in the walls. Friendly front desk staff and a beautiful pool! We would consider coming back after a full renovation and deep clean.
