Phenomenal golf course! Enjoyed the smooth greens and playing with my dear husband. The staff was friendsly ;but the man name Colin had an odd odor to him when we spoke. Definitely enjoyed the fresh air on the course after that!

Hound Ears is such an amazing place! We love coming up to “High Country” from SoFla during the summer months. It is a great escape from the heat. The staff memebers at the club are courteous and kind and the food in the dining room is delicious. The golf course is great, the state of the art fitness center has a picturesque view of Grandfather Mountain, and the hiking trails are beautiful! We also enjoyed a casual lunches at the Tee House! We love this mountain community!

What a beautiful spot in the mountains!! The accommodations at the club (3 suites and one bedroom style) are warm and inviting. It reminded me very much of staying at home-just that kind of cozy and well appointed and clean throughout. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. There is 24/7 access to the snack/continental breakfast room with a lot to choose! The club restaurant fed us one of the best meals we’ve ever eaten out. All in our party of 5 were thrilled with our choices-beef stroganoff, sea bass, trout, steak…and the buffalo cauliflower-better order two! Club Pie - it’s delicious a…

My experiences are from the mid 1990's but may serve as some historical insight. My wife and I visited Hound Ears twice.....Both times over the Christmas holiday. We had to make reservations months in advance as at the time they had a very small number of guests who were there and as I recall, they were only open for 2 weeks or so during that period of time. At any rate, the experience as a whole, or viewed individually, as culinary, service, facility, staffing and/or atmosphere all received the same rating from both myself and my wife. 5 Stars. While there we met some incredible people who…

Great location between Boone, Banner Elk and Blowing Rock. Easy 2 1/2 hour drive from Charlotte. Beautiful golf course, hiking trails, pool and tennis courts, and gorgeous clubhouse -restaurants. It is so fun to take kids for golf cart rides every day. My husband also loves fly fishing on the Watauga River which flows through the development. We liked it so much that we bought a summer home in Hound Ears.

A great top 100 golf course, with magnificent views, fantastic greens, tees and fairways. This community has a fantastic hiking trail, offering 2.42 miles of beauty, with a true unspoiled wilderness experience. This private club and community supports an annual world class Bouldering Event each fall that is a must see. The club and community is surrounded by a class 3 trout stream, which the club stocks. I've seen 30" trout pulled out of this river. A great Dog Park, Community Garden and a beautiful residential community with a golf course that is fun to play, as enjoyable as it is beautiful.…

Stayed here for a week in an Airbnb. It should be noted that I am not a golfer, but the course looked spectacular. Hound Ears Club is located in the perfect spot between Boone and Banner Elk, NC. I highly recommend taking advantage of the brand new hiking trails overlooking the community. Was great to take the dogs hiking on a non-congested trail. Will definitely be back!

We are members here. Love everything about this place: gorgeous valley setting with mountain views, beautiful golf course that has risk-reward but doesn't beat you up, great restaurant, wonderful staff, incredible Fourth of July celebration for families every year, and quick access to Boone and Blowing Rock. Hound Ears is classy and kid friendly.

Saw fireworks at Hound Ears for 1st time. Wish the works could have gone higher but understand there was an eagle aerie in the area. Maybe next year relocate the launching platform. But good experience regardless. Love the mountains. 💖

I am a member of a country club and have visited several golf courses. I have never been treated so poorly as hound ears. Security had no idea where to send me and then became rude because he could not figure it out. Ms. Joe, the pro shop manager, gave us an attitude when trying to check in. Told us she didn't know where we were from, but at hounds ears things are done her way or we won't play. After several minutes of being talked down to and scolded, she finally realized that we were just doing what the other staff had directed us to do. If i had an employee that spoke to a customer this way…

I'm not a frequent 'reviewer' of golf courses, however I read a less-than-friendly post & felt the need to counterbalance it with my experience @ Hound's Ears. I was able to enjoy the facility as part of a 4-course event, with an annual ACC Head Coaches & Sports Broadcasters outing. We played Hound's Ears in the afternoon after we had an official round @ Grandfather Mountain that morning. Anybody that knows the course @ GGCC realizes that we were an exhausted and discombobulated group to host by the time we pulled into Hound's Ears. The staff could not have been more accommodating and frien…

We call HE Shangri-La. It’s heaven in the NC mountains. The people are amazing, the views are spectacular and the golf course is perfect. The other amenities are perfect too, fitness center, tennis, Pickleball and the dinning.
