What People Say

In summary

Hollenback Golf Course is appreciated for its affordability and suitability for both beginners and more experienced golfers, offering a well-maintained, walkable 9-hole layout with distinct holes and good greens. Many visitors enjoy the value for money, particularly with special deals, and find it a convenient option for a quick round. However, some note that the course could benefit from better maintenance, particularly regarding the tee boxes and fairways, and there are occasional concerns about outdated pricing information and course management.

Cute, inexpensive and very walkable 9-hole golf course. Great for a quick 9 or 18. Greens are in great condition but the rest of the course needs maintenance. Tee boxes and fairways were not cut.

This is my go-to "let's just get a quick round in" course. Cheap, relatively easy round, and lately I learned it's nice to walk (if you don't have a tee time or want to save $). It could use some better maintenance, but the greens are honest and the fairways are not bad.

Course is nice and well kept, green fees are dirt cheap. Definitely a good course for beginners, as long as you go when it's not busy. Did my first 9 holes here and had a blast. Each hole felt distinct in its own way, 10/10 will golf again

Cheap and easy to get on … but they don’t regulate numbers at all and people manning shop have no idea what’s going on out on the course. Get what you pay for. Also 18 holes same price as 9.

the prices for a round at this course have gone up astronomically... the course is mediocre at best... tee boxes are never cut, fairways are not taken care of, greens are bumpy and never rolled. 30$ for a 9 hole twilight round on a friday is highway robbery.

I often find myself surprised I am in Wilksebarre while getting my 9-18 holes here. This course works with what it has (small 9) and is maintained fairly well. There is a weekend special that puts this in the top 3 of my favorite practice courses - 14 dollars from 11-2:30 gets you 18 holes and a golf cart. Not really sure how you beat that and or can go wrong.

Much improved course. The greens are in great condition, but the ground is just too hard to hit the type of shot needed to get the ball to stick on the green, especially with some of the pin placements.

Legend says that Jimmy Stewart once graced his presence here. He had a tee time even though they don’t accept them. He was two hours late because he got mustard on his favorite sweater from a hot dog he purchased from the nearest Abe’s Hot Dogs. It was his idea for the bridge on hole #4. The gigantic tree next to #5 green is said to have his name carved in it. The pond on #7 has a broken five iron he tossed after shanking three straight balls into the water. Some have seen it when the water dries out. The legend of Hollenback will never die. It is a staple and you must golf here. You will not…

The pro shop employee said that the Facebook pricing information is several years old. The city of Wilkes-Barre does not seem to have an official golf course webpage with pricing. Please update the Facebook page!
