A nice course for those who are not pros. I brought my twin boys there this past weeke to play 9 holes to celebrate them graduating from the U of M. We reserved a time online for 3 players. Just as we were about to tee off the employee running the cart desk said they were adding a guy to our round. I understand that courses want to maximize their business, but the dude totally did not fit into our vibe and really ruined some of the experience for us. Will check out other options in the future.

Francis Gross is a truly delightful course! Charming, and a joy to walk. It strikes the perfect balance of being welcoming to beginners while still offering some challenge for seasoned players. The recent transition to 100% bent grass greens was handled with care, and the results are outstanding. The greens have never looked or played better! With new wildflower areas adding beauty and nuance, the course continues to evolve into a shining example of what public golf should be. The staff’s pride and dedication are evident everywhere, and they deserve high praise for making this such a special p…

A friend booked a foursome for 18 holes. I ended up needing to only play 9 because something had come up for me that day. I asked the clubhouse and they said no 9 hole play before 2pm on the weekend. Their “accommodation” was a rain check for the 9 I couldn’t play today. Ok sounds good, EXCEPT I couldn’t just come back and play 9 with the rain check a different day. I would have to book ANOTHER 18 hole round and then get half off of it. An insane policy from a course that goes out of its way to pretend like they are some private country club. I declined so did not play and guess what? They d…

$70 for this course is robbery considering the current state of conditions, in spring no less. Seems like Minneapolis parks and rec doesn’t care about up-keeping tracks and they just know they can get away with charging whatever they want. I’ve come to expect these conditions at Hiawatha, but Gross should never be in this shape

In my opinion this is a very nice course. Good for anyone with a high handicap, and a good run for those who can work a ball. I would say on a scale of 1 to 10 it's a 7 but only because it's a little pricey . Also greens are a bit dicey but all in all a good track.

Underwhelmed. Heard a lot of good hype but was left far from impressed. Decent course but not very newcomer friendly. Hole 3 was a joke.

Nice course. Very nice for a city course. Good value. Well kept. Nice clubhouse. No alcohol, beer only.

Played the front 9, but have played out here a bit over the years. Enjoy the course it can challenge you if you get caught in the trees. Seems like they have opened the course up since I last played. Greens are in decent condition and the staff was super friendly! Picture is of hole 4 up the left fairway.

This is one of my all time favorite courses. I used to work near here and I have golfed this course too many times to recall. It is difficult to top the convenience of the location! It’s always in good shape, not terribly long, but challenging and fun.

I forgot my pitching wedge there totally my fault but some one did not turn it in ! Would be nice if someone had a little golf etiquette! It is not the golf courses fault!

4.5 hours for 18 holes is common. One would expect the course management to help educate the players on proper golf etiquette. We are talking about basic stuff like hitting several balls off the tee, taking 5 minutes looking for lost balls and getting off the greens if you have been playing the holes for over 15 minutes. Get a ranger out there.

We showed up at 1:45 for a 215 tee time and there was a line of about 15 people in front of us waiting the tee off and we were told that they were about 30 minutes behind schedule. It turns out they had more people golfing than they had carts
