In summary

Fort Snelling Golf Course is appreciated for its friendly staff, affordable pricing, and relaxed atmosphere, making it a popular choice for both traditional and disc golfers. The course's unique setting near the airport provides a charming backdrop, and the lack of required tee times allows for flexibility in play. However, some visitors have noted issues with course maintenance, such as dry fairways and rough greens, and occasional slow play due to the first-come, first-served policy.

Love going to this course surrounded by history. Not expensive to golf, no reservations, very kind people, and a fun 9 hole. No it’s not a PGA course with clean greens everywhere as some ratings point out, but it’s just fine. If you’re there at the right time you’ll hear the National Anthem being played too.

Great place for a nice slow pace in the peace and quiet. Novel to watch the planes take off in between shots. Charming setting, easy walk. Very friendly. Hope this gem stays a secret!

We went here for the disc golf course. It was very interesting, because the regular golf and disc golf were mixed together. You have to pay to play. Everything is well marked, but some holes didn't seem to match the map, but not too hard to figure out. Although interesting, dodging golf balls got annoying. We still had a lot of fun. The bathrooms were weird and could use an update. A huge room for 1 stall seemed a waste. It was also tiny, not much room if you were big. The bucket of tampons, although thoughtful... a little weird.

Fort Snelling Golf Course was an amazing experience. The rough was rough, the greens were tough, and the fairways were decent. Tom was an absolute treat. Find out how I did on YouTube @ TieDyeGolfer

Very disappointing. There’s no such thing as a fairway on this course. Dry as dirt everywhere. Greens were also terrible. The city of Minneapolis has really let this place go. I can’t believe they can even charge you to play here. Beware

Sadly this course is in rough shape. It’s evident that the City of Minneapolis doesn’t care. Prices for two seniors with a cart it cost $70! The tee boxes were rock solid. The fairways were overgrown with weeds. In short this place feels neglected and isn’t worth it. Go to Highland Nine in St Paul!

Course is in the worst condition I have seen in a long time… lots of dead areas even in fairways and the greens are just horrific!! Pretty much every green has a large dead spots just like photos. Would recommend finding another golf course to play!!

As a disc golfer, this is one of my fav spots in the cities. Unlike the stick golf course, the disc set up has big long bombs and a few tech shots. It's long, but not overly difficult which is a welcome combination that isn't often met on our other longer courses.

My friends and I enjoy coming here since you don't need to make a tee time. It's affordable and the staff are friendly. Casual and laid back experience. Carts available. The course is also plenty challenging for a shabby golfer like myself.

Second worst Twin cities golf course for fairway quality. Weird layout -- if you love doglegs.... But! A great place to play. No tee times; first come first served. Very relaxed. reasonable price; veteran? big discount Even the beer is modestly priced. Par 35 drivable par 4s. Great for a midday practice round.
