In summary

Dogwood Hills Country Club is appreciated for its friendly staff, challenging layout, and good value, making it a popular choice for locals and visitors alike. Many golfers note improvements in course conditions over the years, although some still express concerns about maintenance issues such as tall grass and greens being watered at inconvenient times. Despite these occasional drawbacks, the course remains a favored spot for casual play, especially given its affordability and unique setting in Portland.

It’s fairly clear this is a value type course. Not many options in the area. The reason for the poor review isn’t because there is no sand on the traps or no golf carts off the paths. But because 6 greens were literally being watered at 3 PM right onto the pins themselves. Called the pro shop and they told us to literally dodge them…..

They charge you $10 for a rider who doesn’t play. Even though they already charge you for the golf cart. Makes no sense. They also messed up tee times and there was 3 golfers behind us on hole 1. They charged $35 for one person playing 9 holes and one rider! Definitely waste of money sadly.

I have lived in Portland 6 years. I have watched this course go from bad to good. The staff is amazing and the course is challenging in its own way. I love having this course in my back yard. We play here 4+ times a week. To the staff keep up the great work. Thank you.

Course was really wet because of all the rain so the greens were slow, but all in all it was in good shape.

Fun little course in Portland. The ONLY golf course in Portland! Fun place to play when you want to get out at the last minute. The pro shop lady is awesome. She is always friendly and professional. My only complaint is the customers. They don’t know how to replace ball marks and respect the course. A small little golf course like this needs a little help from the golfers too!

Would have been nice to have a course to play on. I have never seen the greens or the rough as bad as it was today. The maintenance guy was out watering the greens at high noon. All that is doing is burning it up. Will try it again next year. Hopefully it will be better.

Do not waste your time and money here this place is a joke if I could give it no stars I would. The fairways are like like rough and the rough u might as well count that as a lost ball. This little course used to be something special. They should just sell the land and build houses on it. And to top it off we got a 5$ refund after only playing 9 holes
