In summary

College Fields Golf Club receives praise for its well-maintained greens and friendly, accommodating staff, with many appreciating the course's challenging layout and variety of holes. However, some visitors express concerns about the course's pricing, noting that it is higher than comparable courses in the area, and mention issues with certain course conditions, such as tee boxes and bunkers. A few reviewers also highlight occasional problems with pace of play and course design, suggesting some holes feel cramped or poorly planned.

We have played this course since it opened quite a few years ago. The change in management several years ago eliminated senior rates. (Rates for my husband and I to play 18 holes with a cart today totaled $150.) The overall course condition is disappointing, as you can see from photos—tee boxes in poor condition and bunkers that are filled with rocks. The course quality does not justify the rates charged. On a positive note, the staff and cart personnel are pleasant and welcoming!

Course has come a long way. The greens and fairways were in good shape. The rough had sprinkles of clover and such throughout, but honestly didn't affect the playability. Good track for the price for sure... Especially if you are a walker.

First off. A mid 3 stars. I'd go 3.6 on this course. I'm a 16 handicap and was playing with two slightly higher handicaps (they had a tougher round than me) The good. Course is in fantastic shape, some of the best cared for greens and tee boxes in the Lansing area. Staff was tremendous and friendly. Pace of play was perfect...not rushed, no waiting on tees. Some holes are beautifully laid out. Just challenging enough. The bad: some holes feel "wedged in"..almost like they needed to throw another 2 or 3 holes in and didn't know how to design the entire layout. Range wasn't open(though a nice pu…

Great morning of Golf on this Father's Day weekend. Even with all the rain, the good course was excellently maintained.

Overpriced for the quality, no replay rates. Not that unusual for the area, but what is unusual is a groundskeeper who felt the need to drive his lawnmower over our golf ball and spend 5 minutes holding up play whining that our two groups of golfers were playing too close together. We politely let him know we were well ahead of pace of play, and asked if we were bothering anyone. The self-appointed guardian angel of College Fields gestured weakly while muttering something about condos, then made a show of getting our tee times as he threatened to summon everyone with actual power. They of cour…

Played it for first time in July of 2020. Course was in pretty good shape. Interesting holes that mostly play longer than the card says. No idea why there are no ball washers, garbage cans, or tee box signs...all useful items on a golf course. Greens were in okay shape, rolling at around a 11.5, so fairly slow. Pretty good value and nice variety to the courses in the Lansing area.

Called ahead and was told a price for two people as well as a cart, drive here to then be told we have to walk. And that despite 30 carts sitting there unused, we were not given the option to pay extra for one. When we already should have had one. Apparently golfers on leagues are much more valued. And no apologies for miscommunication (even though it was pretty clear to us when we CALLED) We will not be back.

One of the best maintained courses around. Amazing greens.

Decent course overall but way overpriced for what it is. Many courses in the area are better maintained and with a more affordable greens fee. Greens constantly have unrepaired ball marks.

What a wonderful course! Can't find anything bad to say (that's good!) From the tee boxes to the greens, everything was immaculate. Love the fairways; the greens were in terrific shape. Kudo's to the groundskeeping staff.

The course is usually in very good condition. I love the front, but that back is not my favorite at all. A lot of the holes feel like they are on top of each other and there are a few very unfair/afterthought holes. I think it is overpriced for what the course is.
