In summary

Calumet Country Club receives mixed reviews, with some visitors praising its challenging layout, mature trees, and the dedication of certain staff members, particularly at the grill. However, many reviews highlight significant maintenance issues, including overgrown bunkers, patchy tee boxes, and inconsistent greens, as well as outdated facilities and poor customer service. While some find the course to be a hidden gem, others express disappointment with its current condition compared to its past prestige.

Would give 0/5 if possible. Bunkers are all overgrown with weeds. Tee boxes are either overgrown with weeds or patchy and have no grass in spots. Fairways “look” nice from a distance but have a lot of dry patches and weeds. Greens are about the only thing in “proper” condition and even 4 or 5 of them have dry patches and dimples that affect your putts. Most bunkers are unplayable out of, and I honestly don’t understand why they leave the rakes in them if there is no sand to rake. Good luck If you want to go to the bathroom as half of the toilets are out of order and are in lack luster conditi…

The course was in tremendous shape, but with all the rain the area has had, that's no surprise. I still want to give the grounds crew their certain due. This place was packed and it really can't be an easy task to maintain all that has to be done on the course. So five 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 for that for sure! My friend and I had some really good shots on some pretty challenging holes and would definitely go back to this place. One more thing is that even though it was very crowded on the day We played, the pace of play was still exceptional. Thanks to the group ahead of Us for that. Lol!

This course has seen better days and it is now old and weathered from years of neglect. The greens are spotty with many bare spots, the fairway bunkers have been overgrown with weeds, and the tea boxes are no different than hitting from the rough. Using your imagination you could definitely see the beauty that this course once held, but sadly poor maintenance and upkeep have withered this course away.

The course did not match the online maps and they had no score card with the updated course. It was a slow 18 holes. The current layout was confusing. Sand traps and tee boxes were in bad shape. Greens were well maintained.

Interesting place to play. It has the roots of a beautiful country club course but maintenance has gone downhill. The empty sand traps are bearable, but if they can just fix the bumpy greens this place would be a gem.

What a disappointment. The tee boxes were filled with weeds. You could lose a ball in the bunkers that were so overgrown with weeds. No garbage cans on tee boxes throughout the course. New hole numbers don't align with GPS apps. No divot fill on carts for the endless amount of them throughout the fairways. The course was so dry the ground would explode and you couldnt even try to repair it. Infinite brown spots on the green. Cart path and parking lot need to be repaved. One working toilet for men and no facility for women. For $70 I expect a lot more than I witnessed today. This place was in p…

What a terrible experience. We called 30 minutes before our tee time to ensure we could still use a cart which they assured me we could. Made me pre-pay for the spot which is not a problem. When we arrive to the course they tell us we can’t use the carts. We asked if they had any push carts to which she responded “maybe, not sure though”. What happened to customer service? Not even going to try and check? Then when I asked for a refund on the golf cart, they only refunded for one golfer even though we were two and was charged for two. Terrible experience, the course was not maintained well, an…

This is a hidden gem... you can instantly tell it was designed by someone who knows how to create an optical illusion off the tee yet reward you for great ball striking. Very mature trees overhang the fairways in such a way to intice you to hit driver only to be forced to lay up...long iron approach shots and greens that run true and quick but reject mishits.. love this place

Nice staff. But this course is a shell of what it used to be… I got to play for free and still regret it. The tee box/fairway conditions are unlike any i’ve seen before.

This overall was a good round. I was pleased by the staff and the speed of play. The older woman who runs the grill by the front was very kind to us and was delightful. Would be higher review if the bunkers were a little nicer. But I was pleased with how close this is to Chicago and the price was a little much at 48 but not to upset about that. I would play again l
