In summary

Caledonia Golf & Fish Club is widely praised for its stunning Lowcountry setting, exceptional course layout, and well-maintained conditions, offering a memorable golfing experience. The staff is frequently highlighted for their friendly and helpful service, adding to the overall positive atmosphere. While some visitors mention occasional issues with pace of play and cart path restrictions, these do not significantly detract from the club's reputation as a top choice for golfers in the Myrtle Beach area.

After my sister had her wedding reception here, I knew I wanted an outdoor space and Caledonia was the absolute best choice! The space itself was stunning—nothing beats the views of the low country. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about how gorgeous everything looked, and it felt so magical the entire evening. Special shoutout to Judy, the wedding coordinator at Caledonia. She is kind, thoughtful, easy to work with, and an absolute gem! We’ll always cherish the memories we made here. It was the perfect place to celebrate the beginning of our lives together.

A must play! Had an amazing time at this strantz course. Such a beautiful place to just stop and take in the beauty of this place and how it was designed. I will definitely be back and bringing my friends and mention this place to anyone going to MB 10/10 course was in fantastic shape for beginning of December

Great place for golf in Myrtle Beach! Greens were firm and fair. Kinda wet so it was cart part only for most holes. I would go back ...it was a little pricey, but worth it. Food was great (BBQ sandwich) and beer was cold! And gators.

My all time favorite golf course, a surreal and almost magical place. Highly recommend to go play when the weather is good, you will not be disappointed! Good luck on 18 !!

One of my Top 3 favorite courses, I’ve played here the past two summers and have really enjoyed the rounds. It wasn’t honestly as crowded as I expected it to be but the rain seems to have a big impact on the course and the fairways were in need of a cut. But the views and layout are top tier. The drive leading up to the clubhouse is truly ones of the best

Lovely, reminds you of Augusta. The course is challenging, immaculately maintained and beautiful. Wonderful, friendly and helpful staff throughout. And the fish chowder is delicious 😋

This is a great golf course! Each hole is unique and gotta play it smart. Good customer service. This is worth the trip! Its been raining hard and we had to do cart path only but other than that we had fun! Transfusion was top notch from the cart lady, sorry forgot her name but she is the bomb!

It's no wonder people have considered Caledonia the best golf course in Myrtle Beach area for many, many years. This is really a very high-end greatly maintained golf course. Very fair and very enjoyable to play. And the setting is hard to describe on certain holes because it just feels fabulous golfing this golf course. It really is hard to put my finger on why other than the way the fairways are shaped and where the trees are placed and the way the trees are maintained provides a very comfortable and enjoyable backdropped to every golf shot. This course is a must play and so is true blue. Th…

We had a great time playing the course on January 12, 2025. It’s a great walker’s course, with not too many long walks between holes (although there are a few). The fairways and tee boxes were over seeded but the tips were not for some reason. The greens were nice and rolling around 11-12 and true. The bunkers were in good shape with a good amount of sand. I didn’t get to try any of the food, but what I saw coming out of the kitchen looked really good. The pro shop was nice and the staff was friendly. There’s no driving range, but there’s a practice green and a few flags to chip at. I definite…

Tee boxes are ducks. If you are colorblind, you will struggle with these tee markers at a glance, be sure to check with your playing mates! Course is exceptionally scenic. Plenty to test the avid golfer. Plenty of scenery. Alligators, birds, turtles, herons, and fish can be seen aplenty. Greens play semi firm and quick. Target golf is required with length to score due to tee box setups, and overall yardage. When you think of South Carolina golf, it's not hard to imagine Caledonia.

I love Mike Strantz and from my understanding this was his first solo golf course! I Don't think I'm going out on a limb. when I say in golf course architecture he was an extremist. people tried to temper him down but never really worked! you either loved him or you did not like his courses. I personally absolutely loved it then again, Caledonia was a humbling experience and one of the worst rounds of golf I've had in years can't blame him though even though he made it far more daunting than I would have liked aesthetically. it's an absolutely beautiful golf course. just doesn't suit my game a…
