In summary

Caberfae Peaks Ski & Golf Resort is frequently praised for its friendly and helpful staff, affordable pricing, and a welcoming atmosphere that caters to both beginners and more advanced skiers. The ski slopes are noted for their variety and quality, with efficient lift operations that help manage crowds. While the resort's charm and nostalgic feel are appreciated, some visitors mention that the cross-country ski trails could be better groomed and that certain ski runs may pose safety concerns due to their layout.

I took my daughter (3 yrs old) skiing yesterday and for a lesson with Dennis. My first impression was that it was a charming resort. Beyond that everyone we encountered was friendly and laid back. All of the people working in the rental lines, Kate at the lesson check in, the guys at the chair lift and the girl in the ski shop were all very upbeat and friendly. My daughter really enjoyed her lesson and Dennis was very positive and kind. I had a great time skiing while she was having her lesson and we definitely look forward to coming back next season!

Every year I need to go at least once and I always have a great time. It's cozy and a not very refined, but that's what I love about it. Still a fun ski hill. $165 for 2 adults and 2 kids (including rentals for the kids) for a sunday afternoon on the slopes. So much less expensive than anything else I've found.

I love the vibe here. For intermediate skiing its a great place with relatively long and fast slopes for Michigan. Crystal has a couple steeper slopes but they are pretty short. Cant beat the price either. Its going to be hard to beat after the Green Mountain lift is up and running.

Hotel reminds me of the shining but we always enjoy the place. Great skiing and a great place to visit. Loved the outdoor patio and drinks. Wait staff were good to us. We make a 3hr trek every so often and enjoy our stay every time. Definitely recommend.

We had our wedding at Caberfae last July and everything was PERFECT!!!! The whole day ran smoothly, staff were amazing, and everyone loved the food. From planning to the wedding day, communication was great and we’re so glad we got married somewhere we can come back to! We just celebrated 6 months by coming up to ski and stay the night. Looking forward to visiting so much more in the future!

I visited for the day to enjoy some cross country skiing. They have very good equipment rental prices and a few small lodges. Unfortunately, their cross country ski trails were not groomed, and their maps aren't exactly the best detailed. However, their alpine ski facilities, lift, and runs were very nice.

Gorgeous little hotel tucked away against a local ski hill. Entering off M-55 is much easier due to superior signage, whereas a northern approach coming from Traverse City was extremely easy to miss due to one very small sign right before the turn off due to a half dozen < curve ahead signs. Caberfae has two by buildings, the lodge itself and the condos across the way. Parking is shared with the skiers in a long, long lot. I had no issues finding parking during the autumn season, even with a wedding happening at the same time. The 32-room lodge sits opposite the ski area, which gives it some…

Staff were amazing considering the frigid temperatures. Everyone remained kind helpful and friendly. Of course the Cabbie fries never disappoint. It was suggested to me to rent boots for wide calf’s. Huge game changer for my legs during and after a day of skiing.

We visited Caberfae for the first time earlier this year (Jan '25) and had an excellent time. A nice variety of slopes for the beginner to more advanced skiers. Great place to level up for the beginner. We did both group and private lessons. Group lesson was great and instructors were fun and compassionate, yet also gently challenging. Most of all wish to express our thanks to Dennis as he gave our boys private lessons and he was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was great at both encouraging and challenging. He also didn't "baby" our kids too much but rather helped them achieve more than…

Haven't stayed in the hotel but the skiing is wonderful. Skiing is the focus at Caberfae. I think there's a golf course and they host weddings. Skiing is the focus. They make snow when it's cold (like making hay when the sun shines) and so they can stay open when it warms up. As a skiing enthusiast, I appreciate the effort and investment and I keep going back.

For what it is, the slopes of Caberfae are fantastic. A family run operation that seems to truly care about what they are doing. It is not the biggest ski area in the lower peninsula, and it does get quite busy, especially on weekends, but despite that, it never feels overly crowded, and the lift lines just seem to keep moving. With 4 fixed chair lifts, they do an impressive job moving people up the hill. The staff is friendly and helpful, the location leads to it having great snow, and overall, it is a very satisfying ski experience, especially when comparing it to the prices of the other are…

It's a great area with some longer runs. Location is great with easy driving time from southern Michigan and northern lower peninsula Michigan locations. I'm not a fan of how the runs tighten up on ear the bottom which is always a safety concern. Chutes on the left and right side of the runs come out right on the main runs usually with high speed skiers exiting these chutes. Be cautious of new and in experienced skiers and riders
