Brookside Golf Course

While you may not be entering an Augusta National or Bethpage Black, or even a modest country club, Brookside bestows upon you a course that is in good enough condition, with a interesting enough layout, that you will not feel ashamed having tread upon it. The tee-boxes are fairly even, with the grass not being tall, though still feeling as though the grass could be slightly shorter, and, save for the par-3s, are usually not anymore beaten up than a man sorely in debt. A city owned and maintained course that is above average. Very playable and scenic as well. Some water in play and most of the holes are tree lined so stay out of the trees. Five out of six finishing holes are very tough so bring your best game when you get there. Don’t bother with the hot dogs as they are microwaved. Very reasonable rates and always uncrowded. One special rule they have is if you hit a ball into one of the naturalized areas you get a free drop.

Great course at a fair price… well maintained, excellent range and short game practice area. Place would get a 5th star if they would up their snack bar game. Microwave chicken wieners, and convenience store subs cut into 4 bite servings isn’t up to the standards in this area.

Better condition at this course compared to following years. Bunkers can be a little better, but other then that it holds up well.

Golf course was in pretty good shape. Guy working the counter couldn't make up for it. Tee time was made in advance. All he to do was take our money and he couldn't even do that without being arrogant and disrespectful. You wouldn't think customer service would be enough to keep you from playing a nice local track. But this clown pulled it off.

Great course for a funfraiser today for Ashland Christian Health Center. Well maintained. Golfers had a great day!

Front pretty basic, kinda short course. Greens were rolling a little slow but were rolling nice.back 9 nice little layout. 34$ for 18 pretty good but charging 17 for replay 9 was a little high. Overall nice city owned course!

Great muni course, good conditions, can at times play a little slow, especially on the weekend evenings. Other than that conditions are usually good, very nice practice area , with putting green, driving range, chipping green, and practice bunker. Staff is very friendly! Excellent pro here (Dan priest) for lessons.

Brookside golf course is nostalgic for me. From being a young boy walking the treelines picking cherries and blackberries, to being in the youth golf program, to working at the pro shop through high school and college, this place will always hold a place in my heart. I literally grew up on this course and will always remember the employees there that fostered my growth into who I am today. Thank you to Larry Willis, Sam wyrick, Tommy Kwan, terry valentine, and Tim clingan for making brookside an enjoyable place to grow up.

Very nice course layout and very good rolling greens. Round slowed due to a Friday league and early evening back nine tee-times starting off the back as we made the turn. We played the front in 2 hrs, the back in 3. That and all the rain making path only slowed play. But overall really enjoyed the course.

Let me preface this 1 star, the course it’s self is pretty nice for the amount of money you pay. That being said the staff is atrocious. No respect for golf etiquette whatsoever. Greens keepers on the green while you’re getting ready hit on the green. Not only did they see us getting ready to hit, they continued to work on them when we were standing over the ball. I understand maintaining a course, but when you have people paying to play and your employees have no regard for that, it’s disrespectful. When this was brought up in the club house we were basically told too bad. Again no respect.…

Today was great day. But the starter isn't care who he put out. We made the turn ww has people cutting I front of us. Golf balls flying all around us.caet path only that's OK I understand stand that. It's early yet fairways need work clean up along greens. All that said it was a good day. Will be back.
