In summary

Bonaventure Resort and Spa receives mixed feedback from visitors. Some guests appreciate the friendly staff, challenging layout, and scenic views, while others commend the recent improvements in course conditions. However, many express dissatisfaction with the maintenance of the fairways and greens, citing issues like bare patches and poor drainage, and feel the course is overpriced for its current state. Additionally, there are concerns about customer service and the availability of amenities.

The fairways and greens are probably the worst I have ever played on. There were huge dirt spots on both. You were better off to be in the rough. It was the first time I played this course and would not recommend. For $60 there are far better courses in the area. Below are pictures of the fairways.

I was initially skeptical of booking a round based upon the latest reviews. I played Bonaventure many years ago when there were two courses and they were always in great shape. I took a chance and booked a round on the afternoon of 4/23/26. I figured for $40.00 even if the course was terrible, I could get some practice in. The starter was very professional and welcomed me to the course. Pro shop rep was very friendly when I paid. To my surprise the course is in good shape. Yes, there are small dirt patches on some fairways, but NOTHING like the reviews depict. Not one tee shot ended in a place…

This course should not be more than $30 per round. It’s not worth a penny more. Golf carts are nice but need to be cleaned and sanitized daily… golf balls are poor quality for practice range and cost. 30 practice balls of low quality for $10… ridiculous! Tee boxes on most holes are in desperate need of repair. This course needs to be regularly maintained and manicured! It would prove to be very helpful. Greens were just ok. Food for early tee times was not organized and the service/prep area was not clean! NO PREPARED FOOD! Terrible! A soda was $5! The cart guy was unfriendly and exhibited…

If I could leave negative stars I would. This course could let people play for free and it would still be over priced. Absolute worst condition I have ever seen a golf course. Greens are half dead with patches of crab grass all over. Fairways are non existent. They don’t even have dead grass it is all just mud. Looks more like a horse track than a fairway. Majority of bunkers have grass growing through and are rock hard or don’t even have sand in them any more. The owner of this course should be ashamed of themselves. This golf course is a disgrace to the game of golf. The only chance they hav…

Currently this course does not have playable conditions. They over seeded and this caused quite a bit of damage. Most of the greens had bare patches and weren’t playable. Fairways were full of clumped grass clippings. #9 had a dead animal carcass in the rough that had clearly been there for a while. My wife and I left in the middle of the round since we were picking up our balls once they got on the green. Green fees were $55 for these conditions. Would not recommend playing here until conditions change.

Bonaventure golf club five stars the greens are very clean and well maintained The carts are brand new and as well, very comfortable . The driving range is well-maintained and very clean and prices are not that bad. The service was superb. I have enjoyed my time at Bonaventure golf club and it’s great course ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I don't know how folks hate on this course the way they do. Every hole was great. Even had a pretty good waterfall on the front. Greens were a solid 9/10 fairways were a 8/10. Staff was 10/10. Tee box2s were pretty darn good too. Definitely another round for me here in the future.

A lot of the reviews here are pretty old. Course has been updated recently and looking a lot better. Excellent golf staff and amazing scenery. You can tell that a lot of effort is going into making getting this place back to glory.

Cart guy got mad bc we returned cart to the cart wash area instead of him idk. Bartender was not knowledgeable and was weird slow and honestly kind of stupid. I asked to play 9 and of course they had no 9 hole rate. Rain was coming in few hours they should have honored a 9 hole rate. Then we get out there and the course was in horrible shape , mostly just weed grass. It did rain a lot the day before but drainage seems insufficient. Very muddy pretty much everywhere . The greens were nice. Number 3 is a fun hole. Not worth 65$ a round I paid for my buddy and I. They should refund me 60$. The co…

If your tee time is after 12 you will be waiting for carts to come in because they don’t have enough. They said the cart girl was out but did not see her once during a 5 hour round. The restaurant did not have any food when making the turn. They book to many tee times with no starter on hole 1. Overall not worth it.

04/16/2025: The course became very playable after the green renovations about a year ago. However, the recent course and green conditions have been deteriorating. There are plenty of bare-bone fairways and spotty weeds on the greens. You spent a lot of dollars to improve the greens and why do you let the greens go downhill again? Your green fees are too high for the current course conditions. The nearby D**** GC has much better value and 5-star greens. I like the course layouts but I won't pay the current price to play it anymore. Before Green Renovation: Not sure why the golf course still he…

They should only be charging $1 per hole with cart at most, not $60...the greens were terrible in March of 2022 and they only got worse when I played today. I cancelled my tee time for Thursday, Basic conditions are expected, this is far below that. Time to shut it down and renovate...customers deserve better.
